Christmas Train

Today we were able to do one of our favorite Christmas traditions.
We went on the Christmas PJ Train and it was so fun. I love this tradition so much and this year was one of our best yet. The last couple of years I've taken the kids during the day without Chris, but this year Daddy got to come with us and it was so much more fun.
We also got to sit in the front train car and so we had our own tables and fancy tablecloths. So different than usual.
We boarded and then the train immediately left the station.
These boys were so cute sitting together, discussing star wars legos.
Because we were in the first train car, Santa came to visit us first.
Santa was awesome but my favorite part of the day was watching and listening to Tucker interact with Santa. Seriously Chris and I were cracking up.
To give this interaction a little bit of context, it must be noted that the day before all the kids received their letters from Santa. And in Tucker's letter from Santa, Santa reaffirmed that he knew that Tucker loves Paw Patrol and he would definitely make sure a Paw Patrol toy made it's way to Tucker's house.
So now back Tucker and Santa. Tucker visited with Santa first and he was so excited to see him.
So when Santa pulled Tucker up to sit on his lap, he asked him "What do you want for Christmas?"
Tucker looked at him expectantly and said "Santa, you already know. You said so in my letter."
Santa looked around helplessly as Tucker waited for him to confirm that he did indeed know what he wanted for Christmas. Tucker wasn't taking silence for an answer. He said "You wrote it in my letter Santa. You know what I want for Christmas".
At this point I jumped in, in an effort to save Santa, and said "That's right, remember you said you would bring Tucker something Paw Patrol."
Santa was so grateful and relieved and said "Oh you're right Tucker. I know you love Paw Patrol and I know you want Paw Patrol toys."
Luckily Tucker didn't seem bothered by Santa's temporary memory loss, but it was comical to watch.
After Tucker, Bailey visit with Santa and she rattled off her typical list. She wants an American girl doll, pet peacock, enchantimals....etc.
Tanner told Santa that he wanted some Star Wars legos.
And Benson barely tolerated his Santa interaction. He isn't the biggest fan this year. Maybe next year he will be a little more friendly.

These kids and Santa. I just love it!

After Santa left, the conductor of the train served us all hot cocoa and sugar cookies.
This was the first year that the cookies were soft and the cocoa was rich and creamy.

Benson loved the train ride. He got passed back and forth between mom and Dad and got as many snuggles as he wanted.

After we had finished our cocoa and cookies, we started singing Christmas carols.
Bailey volunteered to lead the train car in a song and it was so cute.
She picked "Santa Clause is Coming to Town"
She sang her little heart out and it was so fun.
She also shared the microphone with Benson who was dying to hold it and sing.

We had the best time together on the train and I'm so glad we were able to go again this year.
These cuties make the holiday season so fun. This train ride was such a fun family activity.
