Bailey enters Young Womens + New Beginnings

I can hardly believe my Bailey girl is old enough to enter young womens. With the recent changes for the age, boys and girls can enter the youth program in January of the year they will turn 12. So Bailey is 11 right now but she's now in Young Womens and it's blowing my mind.
I'm excited for her and I can't wait to see her grow this year.
I hope she will make an effort to develop a relationship with her Savior and Heavenly Father.
I hope she will make some good friends that will uplift and encourage her.
I hope she will grow to love the scriptures.

We had "New Beginnings" tonight and all the new girls were introduced and welcomed. There are 5 new girls this year and Bailey is as excited as the rest of them. It was a great program and I'm so excited for Bailey and the rest of the girls!

Bailey is such a sweet girl and I know if she will invest her attention in the right places she will do great things! Welcome to Young Women's Bailey girl!

Temple Trips

The kids had two chances to go to the temple this month and they took them both.
Back in November I scheduled a proxy baptism appointment for our family.
Little did I know, the ward already had a youth temple trip scheduled. So on the Saturday that Chris and I left for our couple's cruise, our ward's youth left for the temple. This was Bailey first trip and I was so sad to miss it. But both Tanner and Bailey had a great time and loved their time in the temple.
Tanner rode up with a van full of his friends from young men.
Bailey was able to ride up to Kansas City with her friend Chloe and Chloe's mom took some pictures for me to commemorate the special day.
Then when we got back from our Cruise, we took the kiddos to the temple ourselves.
We got a babysitter for our younger two kids and got to spend some time with our older two.
It was such a beautiful day. We had a special time in the temple and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful kids who have a desire to serve in the temple.

I really am incredibly grateful for these two and the time we had to serve and learn together.
We had some great conversations on our drive there and back and I'm looking forward to many more trips together this year!

Couple's Cruise to Mexico

We just got home from an awesome couple's cruise to Mexico. We went with Chris' brother Phillip and his wife, Stephanie. We boarded on a Saturday and went on Royal Caribbean for a 5 night cruise. It was so fun.
After you board, it's a while before your luggage is delivered, so we wandered around the ship and explored.
We fell in love with the solarium area. It's adult only and so nice and quiet. We immediately ordered some mocktails and started the relaxation process for the week.
Before we left the port we got to watch these cute little dolphins playing next to our ship. They were so cute.
Eventually we got into our rooms, unpacked and then went to dinner.
The next day we slept in, ate breakfast and then went to the pool.

We basically just hung out and relaxed all day. It was so nice. If Chris and Phillip got bored, they would take off together to explore the ship or find something to eat. Stephanie and I mostly just laid out and ordered mocktails all day.
That night was formal night so we got all dressed up and went to dinner at the main dining room.

The men folk wanted to spend some time outside after dinner so we wandered the ship, watched the waves and the stars. The weather was so nice every night. We really enjoyed our evenings after dinner.
Monday was our first port day and we went to Costa Maya. We wandered the port for a while and then decided on renting a golf cart and driving over to the beach. We had so much fun driving around and exploring.

We ended up at the Krazy Lobster beach resort and we had a great time.
We ordered food, got massages and went snorkeling.

We headed back to the ship eventually and enjoyed the sunset on our walk back.
We loved Costa Maya and we are excited to go back with our kiddos in November!

Tuesday was another port day and we went to Cozumel.
We didn't book an excursion in Cozumel so we just wandered the port and did some souvenir shopping for the kids.

After our shopping, Stephanie and I went back to the ship while Chris and Phillip went snorkeling at the port. They said it was way better snorkeling then at Costa Maya. Stephanie and I just enjoyed a very empty ship and endless mocktails.
When we the husbands came back to the ship we decided to try the flowrider.
First Chris and I did it and then after seeing us wipe out, Stephanie and Phillip decided to try.

We conquered the flowrider on our knees. None of us attempted standing and that was probably for the best, we definitely would have hurt ourselves.
Then we had dinner and I had to snap a picture of all of our drinks because every night our table was covered in glasses.

Mocktails and cokes were not in short supply at our table.

Most evenings after dinner we hung out and talked or played games. There weren't really many comedy shows in the evenings but we did go see some fun shows during the day.

Wednesday was our last day at sea and we did our best to fully relax and enjoy our time.
We really just hopped from pools and sunning decks, drinking mocktails and reading. It was so relaxing!

Then we had our last dinner and on our way to the dining room we saw this amazing sunset and had to take advantage and snap some pics.

I sure love this man of mine. I love our getaways and time together and I love getting to explore together. These couple trips are so important and I'm so grateful that they are a priority to both of us.

The next morning we had to wake up early-ish and disembark. Then we drove Stephanie and Phillip to the Houston Airport. Then we drove ourselves the rest of the 9 hours home. It was fun to get home and see our kiddos but the cruise was wonderful and it made me so excited for our family cruise in November.
