Fall Break Fun

Our first "intersession" from kindergarten just ended and it flew by. Well parts of it seemed to drag but for the most part, it flew by. Tanner attends a year-round elementary school so twice a school year they have a 2-week break, as well as other shorter breaks throughout the year. Consequently, he also starts school earlier each summer and school ends later then the traditional calendar. But that's okay with us. So far, we LOVE year round school at Elm Tree.

Bailey was still in preschool three days a week so we didn't leave town or anything for a long vacation. We just stayed at home and planned fun things to do around here.
We had a tea party one day with some friends. Tanner was the butler/server and took his job very seriously.

All foods are cuter when they are small. Actually everything is cuter when its small and these tea party snacks were no exception.

We invited some friends over and had so much fun with our tea party.
Tanner was the perfect gentleman and happily served the girls their lemonade and cookies.

Love this boy! After the tea party was over he told me that next time he wants to make menus for the girls to look at and order from. I thought that was pretty adorable!

These little buddies were probably the cutest part of the tea party.
Here is a picture of Tommy giving Tucker a kiss. So sweet!

Tucker sneakin' a treat.
Cheers for the cutest girls

These girls were so sweet together!

We also FINALLY went to the "Amazeum". It opened this summer but it was so packed all summer that we wanted to wait til school started. Fall break seemed like the perfect time to try it out for the first time.
The kids LOVED it so much. Actually we all loved it. I thought it was awesome as well.
This magnet block table was a huge hit.

Tucker enjoyed the tiny tot playground while Tanner and Bailey explored the indoor tree house.
Then we played at the farm house. Tanner had so much fun preparing the food from the garden.
Tucker loved trying to milk the cow
And Bailey enjoyed helping the baby pigs find some dinner.
Tucker also loved gathering the eggs from under the hens.
His face here cracks me up.
Then we ate lunch. After lunch we explored the mini grocery store.
Tanner loved his Wal-Mart employee vest. lol
Bailey and Tucker enjoyed baking some bread at the bakery.
And Tucker's favorite was weighing the fruits and vegetables in the produce department.

Then it was over to the engineering area. Tucker loved the ball maze thing. You could arrange the pipes however you wanted to make  tunnel and then send balls through the tunnel.
We also enjoyed the wire tree house.
And this pipe thing was pretty cool. You would feed it a handkerchief and it would suck it though the pipes and spit it out at the end. Tanner loved catching it.
All-in-all, It was an awesome morning spent at the Amazeum.

During the second week of fall break, we went to Silver Dollar City for the Fall Festival.
Nothing says fall like Silver Dollar City.
Tanner immediately grabbed a map and began navigating his way through the park.
We rode "Flooded Mine" first. I just love these boys and their love of guns.
Then it was over to the carousel and tree house for some fun.

After that we went over to "Fireman's Landing". Which is typically so crowded that you cant even find the lines for the rides, but this time it was practically empty and we rode rides over and over.
Tucker loved playing in the ball area and so did his older brother.
I loved getting to ride the kiddie rides with Tanner and Bailey, especially since the adult version of this ride is much too scary for me.
Tanner and Bailey rode the swings.

And then we all rode the firedog ride.

Our last ride before finding some dinner was the hot air balloon ride. Chris took the kids on this one and it was such a hit.
And then we let Tucker run around outside of the stroller for a little while on our way to dinner.
He loved getting to run free.
Then we ate dinner and headed home. It was a wonderful afternoon/evening and we had so much fun. It was so nice to have the park to ourselves.

The rest of the fall break was spent playing with friends and relaxing at home.
School starts again tomorrow and I think we are all ready. Hello crazy Halloween week- Here we come!
