End of Summer/ August Fun

I feel like we got jipped on our summer vacation this year. School starts tomorrow and I'm just not ready. We are only two  weeks into August and now school is starting. Not cool.
I'm going to miss these kids. I'm going to miss our lazy, relaxed mornings. I'm going to miss not having a routine. I'm going to miss not having homework or reading assignments. I'm going to miss not having school events/fundraisers all the time. I'M GOING TO MISS SUMMER!!!

But we had a great last two weeks of summer.
We went to the beach for 5 days in August, but here is how we entertained ourselves the rest of the time.
We did some cloud watching. I was so tickled when the kids wanted to put cloud watching on our summer bucket list. But it was kind of adorable to see them all out there together, talking and looking at the clouds.

We also went to the county fair. My kids love the county fair each year and each year their favorite part is the 4-H booths with the baby chicks.
I don't blame them. Those little chicks are adorable.

And the cows, ponies and sheep.
Tucker also practiced his cow-milking skills.

Then we gave each kid 8 tickets and they got to ride whatever ride they wanted with those tickets.
Tucker's first choice was the flying dinosaurs. He loved it and wasn't scared to go alone at all, which surprised me.

Bailey and Tanner did the climbing house and then the Hollywood fun house.

Tucker also did the Hot Air Balloon ride all by himself. He's getting so big and brave.
We had a great time together at the fair. We enjoyed the exhibits, the rides and the yummy fair food.
We grabbed some watermelon, fried pies and fried pickles on the way out.

Oh and then we grabbed some snow cones to end the perfect night.
One day we visited Aunt Sarah in Fayetteville and then checked out a new ice cream truck called "Burton's Creamery. I had been there before and I knew the ice cream was amazing and the kids had been dying to go to an ice cream truck all summer. This one was totally worth the money

Another item on our summer bucket list was to have a lemonade stand. The kids were so excited. They loved it.
We texted our friends and some people came by and bought our lemonade. It was pretty cute.

These little entrepreneurs made a whopping $12 and they were so happy. Plus Daddy came by and gave them a $10 tip. They were so thrilled when they sold out.

They were seriously so proud of the money. It was cracking me up.
Oh and one of our favorite outings was the "Briar Rose Bakery".
It's this cute little bakery in Farmington that is like a fairy tale. It has a miniature door that had all the kids freaking out. It had the most amazing cinnamon rolls and the girls dressed in Princess dresses and the boys wore nice dress shirts. Tanner and Tuck wore their prince shirts from Disney last year.
It was so adorable.

Tanner was such a cute gentleman and was holding the door open for all the girls.

All the kids in the fairy tale dungeon. So funny.
One of the kids favorite crafts were these awesome marshmallow guns. We made a bunch for Tanner's birthday party and we made extra for our kids. They had the most fun having marshmallow wars. It was awesome.

We spent a weekend in Mtn. Home and the kids got new "Pound Puppies". They fell in love with their toys and played all day with them.

Papa and Tanner had a picnic lunch together and enjoyed some quality time together.
Oh before school started we also went peach picking.

lastly, we made dole whip Popsicles and the kids enjoyed them outside while they talked and were totally silly together.
So we completed everything on our "Summer Bucket List" except "catch fireflies"- which we tried to do but they were never out when we hunted for them. But we had a great summer and I'm really going to miss these cuties when school starts.
I'm so grateful for all the memories we made this summer.
