Fun in the month of July

The month of July is already over. CRAZY!
Parts of the month really flew by and other parts seems to drag on and on. That seems to be the story of my life these days. The days drag on but the weeks fly by. Tucker is already 3 months old. How did that happen?
We started out the month by getting some new books. My kids adore their books and it makes me so happy to see them in their little reading nooks, devouring their books. Granted, they cant read yet, but they love to look at the pictures or they will bring their books to me and ask me to read to them. So this was a fun day.
Both these kids got 3 new books and they were so excited!
The next day we made "orange creamsicles." The kids loved this day. They thought this recipe was a hit and really loved their cool snack.

Wednesday we made these awesome egg shell chalk bombs. These were so fun. I had been saving our egg shells for the entire month of June, so I finally had enough shells to fill a carton. These were gone so fast but it was really fun.
The kids were so excited to throw these on the ground. It made a great big mess and was so fun.

The next day we made an action hopscotch board. Bailey was the funniest doing this. I laughed so hard watching her hop on each action word and do the action. Her "smiling" and "chicken" were the best

That first Friday in July was actually the 4th of July- and we finally got our first watermelon of the season.

Week 6 of Summer started off with deliciousness. (At least for the kids, I can't have dairy while I'm nursing)
The kids got to have banana splits. We made our own banana splits and they thoroughly enjoyed them

The following day we went to "Little Giggles". It's an indoor creative play space. So adorable and the kids love it. We went when it opened at 9 and then stayed until naps. Then after naps we went back and played until close. It's so cute.

Tucker even enjoyed some loves from his big sister.
On Wednesday of week 6 we went to our neighborhood pool. Another fun day in the sun.
Isn't Tucker getting huge?
Thursday we went to our library to see "Tommy Terrific" a magician perform. It was pretty adorable. Tanner was way into it. I love his faces in these pictures. He was enthralled.
This is "Tommy Terrific"
He was so good with the kids and made his performance really interactive for the kids.
Tanner and Tommy.
And Friday we went to "Chick-fli-a" for their cow-appreciation day. If you come dressed in cow costumes then you get your meals free. So we all dressed up and met some friends for a free lunch. It was way fun.
Tanner's face is pretty awesome. He really wanted to go play on the playplace.
But these are my cute little cows.

Even this little guy got dressed up.

Week 7 of Summer was lots of fun. On Monday we went to Daddy's work to show off Tucker and have lunch with him. The kids always love having lunch with Daddy because they get to pick whatever they want for lunch. So fun.
Tuesday we had a car wash. This was pretty beneficial for me because my car was super dirty. These two hard workers washed it right up.

On Wednesday we made chalk ice. We made this last summer and it was really fun. It proved equally fun this time around.
We invited a couple friends over to play too. It makes a beautiful mess.
Thursday morning we went to pick corn at our stake garden. This was such a hit with my kids. They may have missed their callings in life by not being farmers. Bailey literally picked the corn of the stalk and immediately started eating it. She was having the time of her life and ate a total of 4 ears of corn that day.

Tanner was a champ at picking corn. He was quite thrilled with our haul.
Our stake only charges, 10 cents per ear so it's super cheap and it was so delicious. We ate 8 ears of corn the day we picked it and then we blanched and froze the rest. So good!
Then on Friday we had a "You-Pick" for lunch. I told the kids they could pick anything they wanted for lunch and we would either go buy it at a restaurant or we could make it.
Tanner immediately responded that he wanted sushi (that kid is totally mine) and Bailey only wanted mac-n-cheese. So we ordered Tanner's sushi and then made Bailey her lunch.
These two were so thrilled and thought it was really fun.
Week 8- this week's activities were short lived because we were only home for two days before we left for Arizona. But on Monday we did a shaving cream slip-n-slide. This was pretty fun. Tanner loved squirting shaving cream all over himself.

Even little Tucker gave it a try.
Then on Tuesday we decided to go out to lunch with Uncle David. We went to the authentic Korean restaurant where Uncle David ordered for us. He lived in Korea for 1 year and was excited to see some familiar food. The food was yummy and it was fun to spend some time with Daddy in the middle of the day.
The next morning we left for Arizona and we were gone until the following Monday.
So Week 9 starts a little late, our first activity started on Tuesday. We made "Floam". This was such a sensory experience. The kids enjoyed it. I didn't love the mess.
And since we had Aunt Laura visiting, on Wednesday we decided to have a make-your-own sushi night.
Tanner was beyond excited. Bailey mostly wanted to eat pot stickers. But it was fun to see him trying to roll his own sushi. I ended up helping him but he thoroughly enjoyed his roll.
Here was my roll-  California roll on the inside and salmon and avocado on top with eel sauce. YUMMY!
Thursday morning we had about a dozen kids over for face painting. I couldn't get  a whole group shot because each face took so long. By the time I finished painting the last face, most of the kids had gone home. But here are two of our friends and they all look adorable. From left to right we have a tiger, a dinosaur, rainbow and a butterfly.

Then Friday we made homemade bouncy balls. This was super cool. The kids loved it. (Yes, my kids are in their pj's because we did this activity after baths-lol) But these little balls actually did bounce pretty good. They were super excited with their creations.
Stay tuned for more fun. We have one month left of Summer vacation.
