Twas the Week before Christmas

Well Christmas is almost here. I can hardly believe how fast this month has flown by. Typically, I stay pretty busy, and these last few weeks have been no exemption, but really? I cannot believe there are 4 days until Christmas.
On Tuesday we finally got to go see Santa. Bailey, of course, ran right up to him and climbed onto his lap. She was so excited.
This particular Santa was at Chris' office and the week before the visits, they had asked us about what the kids wanted for Christmas, what Santa brought them last year and a few other questions.
So when we went to visit him, he talked to Bailey about the Minnie Mouse that she wanted for Christmas and our elf "Buddy". It was so cute.

Once Tanner saw that it was safe, he decided to take his turn and got on Santa's lap as well. Then Santa started asking him about his Star Wars pods that he brought him last year and that did it. Tanner immediately warmed up and started talking to him. SO cool.

A couple of both kids on Santa's lap. (So weird that next Christmas we will have three kids on Santa's lap!)

After seeing Santa, we drove down to Fayetteville for the "Lights of the Ozarks" Christmas light display. The entire downtown square in Fayetteville was lit up and gorgeous. I read they used 500,000 lights and over 2000 man-hours to put it all together. Pretty awesome.

The first thing we did was take a carriage ride around the square to get a better look at the lights. And, lets be real, a carriage ride is pretty cool.
Here are the kids on the carriage. Tanner refusing to look at the camera.

A family shot before our ride.
Tanner loved watching the horse's clipity-clop hooves. Bailey mostly just kept asking to ride the horse.

So after our carriage ride, we took the kids for pony rides. bailey was beyond excited. She has a thing for horses right now. Tanner had fun too.

Then we walked around the square and got a closer look at all the lights. Even the ground was lit up. So cool!

Chris and the kids in front of the Razorback lights. Loved this!

Then on Thursday, we got to go to Tanner's Preschool Christmas program.
It was completely adorable. The kids reenacted the nativity scene. See my sweet boy smiling so cute.
When he spotted us in the audience, he started smiling even bigger. So precious!
 His class were shepherds.
The whole nativity scene.
Tanner sang all the songs and even did the hand motions. Here he is singing "The Three Wise man" to the tune of of "Mary had a Little Lamb"
He's pretty much the cutest little shepherd I've ever seen!
After his program, we all went back to his class room for cookies and punch. Tanner was so thrilled to see us all.
Bailey loved watching her big brother in the play, but she really loved getting to hang out in his classroom. She always wants to go to preschool with him.

While getting ready for bed that night, the kids found "Minivan Express" tickets on their pillows. Tanner was so excited. He knew just what it meant and immediately headed for the door.
Sweet kids ready to look at lights.
Our handsome conductor called "all aboard" and then punched our tickets so we could board the express. (Don't mind my barefoot kids. It was literally 60 degrees outside)

A family picture before boarding.

The kids loved that Chris was dressed up like a conductor. Seriously, I have the BEST husband ever! He's so fun!
Once the kids got into the car, and they noticed their blankets and hot chocolates waiting for them, they were so excited.
We drove around to three different neighborhoods and saw some really cool lights. It was really fun and the kids loved it.

Then on Friday my kids got special letters in the mail. Last week we mailed letters to Santa in a special "North Pole Express" mailbox. So when these letter came, they were pretty excited. Tanner knew right away who the letter was from.

The letters were both hand-written and child specific. They were unique and so cute.
They couldn't wait for me to read the letter to them. So cute.

Now we will spend the next few days doing laundry, packing and wrapping presents before heading over to Mountain Home. All my siblings are coming home for Christmas this year and I'm so excited.
I hope everyone travels safe and has a wonderful Christmas.
