Surviving the NEVER-ENDING Snow

It seems this snow is never going to go away. It's now Wednesday Dec 11th and school is cancelled once again. The roads are getting better but school is still out. Monday night we found out school was cancelled AGAIN for Tuesday, so we decided to throw a little "Winter Wonderland" party for our kids. Since there is snow everywhere, the theme seemed appropriate.
So after the kids went to bed, my friend April and I got together and threw together this party.

We had a "hot cocoa bar" with crock pot hot chocolate and different things for the kids to add to their drinks. Candy canes, marshmallows, chocolate and whipping cream.
Each kid had a little "snowman cup"
April made these adorable little snowman donuts
"Snow-covered Pretzels"
We also did a couple crafts with the kids. We made "reindeer food"
and made Christmas trees out of sugar cones.
The kids loved the party. They want to have one everyday now.
All the kids. April does daycare during the day so she had 6 kids at her house during the snow days.
It was a little wild but so fun!
All eight of the kids eating their snow inspired snacks

The kids loved making their own Christmas trees. They really enjoyed eating them later that night.

After snacks and crafts we turned on "Frosty the Snowman" and the kids watched while April and I cleaned up. Here are all eight kids snuggled up on the couch.
It was a really easy little party to throw together and it helped break up the cabin fever from being stuck inside each day.
Today we were desperate again, and made these cardboard wings.
I know, they are super ghetto, but the kids absolutely adored them. It was so funny.
While they played with those ridiculous wings, I painted the cardboard boxes and then we made them into cars.

These were such a huge hit. We watched a movie and ate "theater style" candy. It was fun and helped to kill most of our last snow day.

School is back in session tomorrow!!! Tanner will go to preschool and Bailey and I will actually get to run some errands. I'm so excited to leave the house. Snow does weird things to people.
