Apple Picking in Charlottesville

We had so much fun picking apples yesterday. It was a beautiful fall day and we drove up to Charlottesville, Virginia for some fall fun. I've ALWAYS wanted to pick apples. However, for some reason, there are very few apple orchards near us in Arkansas. So until now, this dream has remained unfulfilled. Well yesterday I was able to check "apple picking" off my bucket list. It was awesome.
The kids had a great time picking apples and running around the orchard.
We discovered a lot of the ripe apples had already fallen to the ground, so Tanner found quite a few really nice apples on the ground.
Tucker just enjoyed throwing apples around. He would pick up apples off the ground and then chuck them across the orchard as far as he could.

Tanner was a champion apple picker. He probably picked 80% of the apples we brought home.
Bailey helped out too but she mostly enjoyed playing with her Daddy.
I love Tucker's cheesy smile.
I love these three littles.

After we picked all our apples, we went over to the barn and checked out the signs .
Bailey and Tucker were super cute worms.
Then we got some apple donuts and ice cream. This was a huge hit with the kids.
We sat on the back porch of the bakery and enjoyed a gorgeous view.

How amazing is this view? You could basically see all of Charlottesville from the orchard. So gorgeous!

After leaving the orchard we drove over to Monticello. Monticello was Thomas Jefferson's home that he designed. We tried to just drive by and check it out, but the parking lot and visitor center were in the way. So we enjoyed the grounds and then drove home and grabbed some dinner.
We had a great time. The kids got muddy and slipped all around in the orchard but it was totally part of the experience. So great. Yay for fall fun!
