Spring Break- Color Week

We just finished a very fun spring break. We had a COLOR WEEK and it was awesome. Here are the details. Each day was based on a different color and had color related activities.

Monday- Orange Day: We met our playgroup at Krispy Kreme (our favorite donut shop with the orange light) and we all enjoyed some delicious treats.
The kids loved getting to pick out their donuts. For some reason, that never gets old.

My orange kids with their yummy donuts.
The strawberry milk was also a huge hit.
Crazy donut loving kids.

Here is part of our orange day crew.
After donuts we met at a local park and had a small Easter egg hunt.
Tucker collected more flowers than eggs, but he had a great time.
This boy. He's such a sweetheart.
and this girl is kind of a dream nowadays. She's so fun.
I do love these kids, even when they are busters.
The Fuhriman kids and my bunch- they are the best of friends.
They all had a great time hunting for eggs.

Tuesday- Green day: We met at "Compton Gardens" and went for a nature walk and we packed a picnic lunch. Although my boys were complete monsters, Bailey had a great time walking and talking with her good buddy Chloe.
At least the kids look cute in their matching green.
This kid was bound and determined to make me an anxious and angry mess of a mom. He just couldn't help himself- staying on the path was too much to ask.
Although Tucker was the hardest of my three kids. I ended up having to carry him, kicking and screaming back to the car. Ridiculous. I have a bad feeling about age 2.
Bailey was a dream and happily walked with Chloe the entire time. Which was a blessing since I couldn't keep up with Tucker and Tanner.
The picnic part of the adventure was nice because all three kids were sitting in one place for a little while.

After eating, the kids all played in the creek.

Tucker is particularly fond of the water and didn't want to leave it- hence me having to carry him back while he threw a massive fit.

After our green day adventure, Tanner and I had a long talk about listening and obeying. He promised me he would be better, under threat of me cancelling the rest of our fun week.
Happily, the next day went much better.

Wednesday- Red day: This was a really fun day. We met our playgroup at "Firehouse Subs" and ate a delicious lunch. The kids all got fireman hats and they loved it. And the food is so good!
Then we met back at our house for a fire truck house party. Our local fire department does this awesome thing where they bring a fire truck to your house and let the kids play. It was amazing. They opened up all the hatches and let the kids explore every inch of their truck. They got to push buttons, do the sirens, try on their uniforms and we even got to see the "jaws of death". It was amazing.

All the kids had a blast!!!

Tucker really loved exploring the huge tires. They were taller than him. lol

These kids really loved "red day".

Thursday- Blue Day: We had planned for blue skies at Silver Dollar city but we had to settle for blueish-grey skies and lots of wind. We still had a great time but it was the coldest day of the week by far. The weather had been amazing up until Thursday. We invited our friends, the Caresias to join us and use our buddy passes. Bailey was thrilled to have her buddy Chloe there.
We played at "Fireman's Landing" and rode the Dog ride.
We rode the hot air balloon ride- which is always a favorite. Well actually- Daddy took Tanner and Bailey while I stayed with Tucker- snuggled up warm in the stroller.

We also played in the ballroom. Because its physically impossible to go to Silver Dollar City and not spend at least half an hour in the ball room.
We also rode the train- because Tucker wouldn't  stop asking for a train ride. Once he heard the train whistle, he was obsessed. He may not look happy in the picture, but he loved the train ride.
Oh and here is Tanner- totally intense and ready to shot some targets on the "Flooded Mine" ride.
We ate lunch and then it was over to "Grand Exposition" area for a few more rides.
Tanner was such a sport and walked all day even though he was cold.
Bailey and her buddy Chloe on the frog ride.

They also rode the lady bugs and butterflies. They had so much fun together.
We snagged one quick family picture and then we headed home.
We got home that evening and it was blue skies and low wind. But here is our blue day picture to commemorate our day. Blue shirts, Tanner's beloved park map and delicious kettle corn. Such a fun day.

Then today, Friday, was Yellow day. We played in the sunshine, drank frozen lemonades and did face painting. It was gorgeous outside and we had a great time with our  playgroup.
Here's the whole group drinking their lemonades. Don't you love all the yellow?

Face-painted Tanner
My kiddos all painted. Bailey was a butterfly, Tucker was a doggie and Tanner was a dinosaur. They loved their faces. It was so fun.
That's a wrap. Each day was loaded with fun and it's sad to have it end. Although I'm a little relieved. It will definitely be hard to go back to reality next week.
Yay for color week!
