I had a wonderful Mother's day this year, in no small part due to the efforts of my amazing husband. Also, my parents were visiting, so I got to spend Mother's day with my own Mom- which rarely happens. Also, my Aunt Jan and Aunt Robin were visiting with their spouses and we all congregated at Stephanie and Aaron's house- so I got to see three of my other favorite moms. It was so nice.
Sunday morning started out with us going to church and the men put together a really nice brunch for all the women in our ward. Then we came home and had some quiet time. We ate lunch- which were sandwiches- and then I got to spend some one on one time with each of my kids doing an activity of their choice. I started this tradition a few years ago and it's really helped me focus on what important on Mother's day. Tanner and I designed some new logos for band shirts that we will cut from vinyl and heat press onto t-shirts. Benson and I played "Smash Bros" together. Tucker wanted to go for a walk together and Bailey and I painted our toe nails. It was so nice. I am so grateful for each of these kids that made me a mom and I love spending time with each of them on their own.
Oh, also, Laura is visiting with Nanny and Papa and she helped my kids put together a Mother's day gift she knew I would like. She had each kids write something they loved about me on a popsicle stick and then they glued "RX protein bars" to the sticks and made a cute bouquet out of them. It was perfect, since I'm trying not to eat a ton of sugar right now.
Chris also got both me and my mom flowers for Mother's day. He also got me a plate of chocolate covered strawberries- which are one of my favorite treats.
For dinner we went over to Aaron and Stephanie's for delicious BBQ and we all got to hang out together. Eventually we had to come home to get kids to bed. But it was a lovely evening and all-around delightful day. Happy Mother's day to all my favorite mommas out there.
