We are right in the middle of the all the end of school craziness and its been exhausting but so fun. Every night we have a different school event for a different child and it's keeping up super busy.
First up, we got to watch Benson perform in his Second grade musical. It was space themed and most of the kids were dressed as either astronauts or aliens. There were also a few kids dressed as planets. It was adorable. Benson was an astronaut and he looked so cute. We got to use one of our old Halloween costumes for it and Benson loved how he looked. Everyone kept commenting on his costume. It was so fun. He also had a cute speaking part. He was so focused on his music teacher that I don't think I got a single picture of him smiling, but he did amazing and sang every word.
Right after that, we drove over to Grimsley Junior High for Bailey's final band concert. She played beautifully and the band sounded great. I can hardly believe our girl is headed to high school next year. She's getting so old!
Next up, Benson had field day and the same day Tucker had a kickball tournament. So I spent the day between the two and it was so fun. Happily, the rain held out long enough for Benson to get to finish his field day activities. But then the rain came down hard. We've had a really wet spring and it's going to make for a gorgeous green summer, but right now it's just wet! All the time! Benson had so much fun playing with his friends and it was so fun to watch him. I think the favorite is almost always tug-o-war and it's always fun to watch. But a close second is the sponge relay. But that's mostly because Mr. Osbourn, who runs that station, lives for this day and has the best time spraying the kids with the hose. It's so comical to watch him.
Tucker also had a blast at his kickball tournament. He decided not to play because he was worried about his asthma and all the dust from the field, but he said he had alot of fun just cheering for his friends.
We also attended Tanner's end- of-year concert and got to watch him play with both the jazz band and the symphonic winds band. He did great and he has really loved band in high school. He can't wait for marching season next year and he's even been enjoying the after school practices they've started having.
To add to the craziness that is already the month of May, Tucker's activity days group decided to add a campground to the calendar. Tucker was more than happy to go and had the best time. He really has some great leaders and they let the boys plan the whole campout, including the food they ate. Needless to say, the boys ate more than their fair share of smores. But he came home healthy and happy and covered in dirt from head to toe. That alone is a clear indicator of a good time for an 11-year old.

The following Wednesday night, the activity day leaders hosted a pinewood derby for all the boys ages 7-11 and it was hilarious. Both Tucker and Benson did really well. Benson came in 4th, just barely being edged out for third. His car was named "the limo" and it looked just like a limo. Tucker got second place. Tucker named his car "Samantha with two S's" and apparently it was some kind of inside joke with the boys from the campout and at one point, all the kids were chanting "SSSamantha" over and over again. It was so funny. They had a great time at the race and they were so thrilled when Tucker got a trophy for 2nd place.

After the pinewood derby, I got to attend a "Mother & Me Tea Party" with Bailey. It was pretty cute. We drank lemonade and ate yummy treats. Then we played "get to know you" games and chatted. It was fun to see Bailey with her friends and see how much she's grown in young women's over the last 6 months in this new ward. Honestly, she's come out of her shell so much and it's amazing to see. She's an incredible girl and I'm lucky to be her mom.
The last end of school event we had was an awards ceremony for Bailey. She didn't even know we were coming but we got an invitation to come and we were able to surprise her. She got an award for AB honor roll for the entire year. She was taking all advanced classes and two high school credit classes- so we were so proud of her!
Now we are down to the last few days of school and we can't wait for summer. We are looking forward to Benson's birthday party this weekend and then it's the last day of school. Yay! It's going to be such a fun summer and we can't wait to get started!
