Today Tanner participated in his first Pinewood Derby. Daddy and Tanner worked all week on his car and Tanner loved how his car looked.
Unfortunately, on the day of the race, Dad was gone for drill, so he missed the race. If he had been there, I'm sure he would have made some last minute modifications and maybe Tanner would have placed better. As it was, Tanner had a great time but he definitely didn't take home any trophies this year.
He did enjoy sitting at the end of the track with his den leaders, watching the races.
He cheered for his friends and had a great time seeing all the different car designs.
At the end of the race, he won an award for "Best Use of Decals". He was so thrilled and smiled so big at me from across the room.

I'm proud of what a good sport he was and when we left, he was already making plans for his car next year.
