Nanny's Birthday, Easter and General Conference- Oh What Fun!

We just got home from a super fun and exhausting weekend in Mountain Home. We were able to celebrate Easter and Nanny's Birthday over the weekend and watch general conference.
So get ready for picture overload.

We arrived in Mtn. Home Friday evening around 8 pm. The kids were a bit wired and they needed to unwind for a while and play before going to bed.
We had been watching the weather closely and decided our best bet for our Easter egg hunt would be Saturday morning around 8 am. There were only a few hours on Saturday during which it wasn't supposed to rain.  However, we woke up to sunshine and warmer temps. We decided to wait a little bit longer. Finally around 11 am, we let the kids out to search for eggs.
They were so cute. They also helped each other find 12 eggs each.
Little Benson was content to watch the big kids hunt.
I love his squishy little face.
Tucker took the hunt very seriously this year. He hunted high and low and was so proud each time he found an egg.
Bailey loved hunting for Easter eggs too. She enthusiastically showed me each egg she found.

And when she finished, she happily sorted through her loot.
Hazel even joined her and together they compared their eggs.
Tanner is so fun to watch. He is so expressive. He couldn't believe there were "sour patch kids" inside his egg. Look at that face!
Love this handsome little man.
Tucker really loved his green basket and he loved putting all his eggs inside it and carrying it around.

These cute egg hunters had a great time finding their eggs this year.
Oh and here is a cousin shot after the egg hunt.

After the egg hunt we had lunch and then the kids took naps and had quiet time.
While the kids napped, Chris went and got Thai food for me because he's the best husband.

After naps, we dyed Easter eggs. Tucker was particularly fond of egg dying this year.
It was pretty cute to watch his face light up each time his white eggs came out a new color.
I love his smiles!
Bailey died most of her pink and she loved each and every one of her creations.

Little Benson again was happy just watching everything going on around him. I just love that little face!

Tanner is an old pro at egg dying at this point, but he enjoyed drawing on his eggs with crayons before dying them.

Papa had been gone to an important meeting most of the day, but he got home in time for egg dying. We were so happy to have him home!
Tanner loved helping Papa design his traditional Razorback egg.
Each Easter, growing up, my Dad colored a special "Razorback egg" and then we all tried our hardest to find it. There wasn't any special prize, just bragging rights. But we all loved it.
I love that Tanner got to be part of that tradition this year.
After the egg dying, we celebrated Nanny's 60th birthday with an amazing steak dinner.
The cousins were happy to eat out on the patio together. They were telling jokes and cracking up. It was so cute to hear their little voices through the dining room windows.
Dinner was so yummy and then we started the real party.
"Nanny's Birthday Bunny Bash"

Nanny loved the party setup and the colors. She loved the carrot banner and all the food.
How cute are the bunny ears on the cake?

Isn't my Mom the cutest? She's 60 years old this year and I can hardly believe it.
It was so fun to celebrate her and even more fun to surprise her with this party.

I love these two with my whole heart!
The grand kids gave her their presents and it was so fun to watch the interactions.
The adults gave her a new phone case with a picture of Nanny and Papa with all the grand kids together and money to get her car detailed.

It was a crazy wild night and we had so much fun.
Then the moms got the kids off to bed while the Dad's watched the Priesthood session of general conference. Eventually we all made it bed too.

Sunday morning, Nanny let the parents sleep in and she watched all the grand kids. It was awesome. I got to sleep and have some quiet time. It was Easter morning as well so the grand kids had their Easter baskets to keep them busy.
I had made a breakfast french toast casserole the night before, so when Nanny woke up she baked it and everyone had a big breakfast. I eventually woke up and ate breakfast too.
It was fun to see the kids with the baskets. They kept showing me all the things the Easter bunny brought them. It was so cute.

At 11 am, we turned on General Conference and we got to listen to our new prophet, President Nelson. The kids did good. They weren't as good as previous years, but there was a lot going on to distract them. They did enjoy their conference activities though.

As soon as conference was over, we hustled and got our Easter dinner put together. We ended up eating dinner around 3:30 and it was delicious. Ham, rolls, potatoes, salad, eggs and green beans. So much good food.
Directly after eating, we loaded up into our van and headed home.
It was such a fun weekend and we all had a great time. The kids always love going to Mtn. Home, but it's even more fun when all the cousins are together with Nanny and Papa.
We are glad we were able to celebrate Nanny and be together for Easter.

I'm so grateful for my Savior and his atonement and resurrection. I'm grateful for my chance to repent and become new each time. I'm grateful for the gospel and for our new prophet. It was refreshing and comforting to hear his counsel. We are so very blessed! Happy Easter!
