Camping at Terra Rose

We got home from our first camping trip of the season today. We only went overnight but it was so fun. We drove over to "Camp Terra Rose" in Gravette and stayed in a little cabin there. It's so nice to stay in a cabin because there is so much less work involved. There is a fridge and range in the cabin so it's easy to store and cook food.
We arrived around 5 pm on Friday and we immediately busted out the bug boxes I had bought for the kids. I found them at the store for only $2 each and it was the best buy ever because these kids loved hunting for bugs. So funny.
We caught grasshoppers and lady bugs for a couple hours while Dad prepped the fire pit for dinner.

After catching our fill of grasshoppers, we decided to eat dinner. The kids loved roasting their own hot dogs. We bought cheesy dogs this time and they were a huge hit. I think Bailey ate 3 of them. Tanner and Tucker each ate two.
After dinner we went on a nice walk. It was a beautiful night and the weather was amazing.

Bailey enjoyed picking wildflowers.
Even Tuck brought me a little bouquet of flowers. So sweet!
There was also a cool obstacle course we played on.

Tanner and Bailey loved walking on these beams and balancing.

We also hiked up to these little caves.
The kids loved pretending to be bears and scaring mommy.
I love this picture. Chris is such a good dad. Taking the kids on adventures and keeping them safe. I just love him!
Then it was back to the fire to roast marshmallows and drink root beer. We don't get soda often and so when the kids get their own cans, they are in heaven.
These three are the best of friends sometimes and I love them!
By 9 pm we were all ready for bed. They snuggled into their sleeping bags and went right to sleep.
The next morning, Daddy made us all pancakes and then we headed over to the pond to go fishing.
I just love them!
The pond was overflowing with fish. We would throw in our line and immediately catch a fish. Over and over it happened. But we only did catch and release.
Tanner with his first fish of the day.
Introducing his fish to his siblings.
Even Bailey held one of the fishes we caught. Tucker didn't want to hold the fish but he really liked looking at them.
Tanner with his sunfish
Again with the best Dad ever.  Teaching Tanner to cast and helping Tucker hold the fish he caught.

After we finished fishing, we went on a little canoe ride. The kids loved it. Chris and Tanner paddled them all around the edge of the pond.

We had the best time fishing. Then we went back to the cabin and had sandwiches for lunch. We sat on the front porch of the cabin and just enjoyed the quiet. Sometimes it so nice to disconnect from the world. There is no cell phone reception at the this cabin so their is no cyber world. So nice!!!

After lunch we played with bubbles, tossed around some Frisbees and ate some snacks while we enjoyed the incredible weather.
Oh and Chris had brought all the kids glider planes to play with . These were a huge hit!
And here is one family picture before leaving.
I can hardly believe this baby boy will be here next month. I doubt we will be doing much camping after he gets here, so it was nice to have this trip in the nice spring weather.
I just love my little family and I'm grateful for all the fun times we have together.
