Drake Family Florida Vacation- Part 2 - Disney World - Magic Kingdom Day 1

It's hard to believe that after all my planning, our Disney trip is over. It was so fun! Like seriously, so much fun! So here we go: Magic Kingdom Day 1.

We started our day at Magic Kingdom with breakfast at the Beast's castle.
I love the ambiance of this park. Everything looks so real. I mean, look at this castle!
We had a reservation for 8:25 am, which was 35 minutes before the park actually opened. So it was nice to walk around and see things before it got crazy crowded.

The kids were pretty excited to start riding rides, so our breakfast was quick.
We had pre-ordered our meals and as soon as we got settled in our seats, a waitress brought our food.
Chris and I really enjoyed our meals. The kids didn't eat much more than the complimentary pastries.
They just couldn't wait to get our day started.
After breakfast we walked over to "Main Street" to get our pictures taken in front of the castle.
On the way we passed "the sword in the stone" and Tanner decided he had to give it a shot. Unfortunately, Tanner is not meant to be the next king of Camelot and the sword did not budge.
Oh and this is how we cruised through Magic Kingdom. Tanner got to ride on a glider board attached to the back of the stroller while Tucker and Bailey relaxed in luxury.
The classic pictures in front of the Disney castle.
I don't know if you can read our shirts, but Chris' shirt says "I'm with my crazy Disney wife" and mine says "Smile from ear to ear". It basically sums up our attitudes about Disney. Chris was a total trooper though. He didn't complain at all and pushed our stroller for miles. He's a keeper for sure and I love him!
By the time we finished pictures, the park had publicly opened and it was beginning to get crowded.
We headed straight over to "Peter Pan's Flight" to use the fast passes the cast member from Disney Springs had given us. We walked right on, past the rapidly forming line.
I don't know if it was because it was our first ride at Magic Kingdom or if it was really super magical, but the kids absolutely loved this ride.

We had to hop onto the pirate ships to go on the ride. This proved a little difficult since I had to get Tucker and Bailey on the ship and then sit myself down all while the ships continued to move, but we managed it. We got settled on the ship and away we went.
We watched "Peter Pan" on our drive to Orlando and so the movie was fresh in the kids' minds. As we went through the ride, they pointed out their favorite parts. Here are a few shots of our favorite scenes.

After the ride we met up with Aunt Sarah & Uncle Johnny. We all walked over to "Space Mountain together". We had fast passes and Tanner was very excited. Bailey and Tucker were too small to ride this one. We ended up using Chris and Tanner's fast passes and then I used a stroller pass via "rider switch".
Chris and Tanner went first and Tanner loved it so much.
He told us at the end of the day that "Space Mountain" was his favorite ride at Magic Kingdom.
When they finished riding, we used the rider switch pass and I went with David, Tanner, Sarah & Laura. Tanner sat up front in the first car and loved it. I could also hear David chuckling/grunting the entire ride. I was laughing so hard. It was really a fun ride.
While Tanner and I rode "Space Mountain" Chris took Bailey and Tucker over to the splash pad area so they could cool off. Did I mention that it was insanely hot and humid. So incredibly hot!!
After we finished the ride, we got in line with Aunt Sarah and her family to ride "Dumbo".
We didn't have to wait long, maybe 20 minutes. Here are the kids as we waited to board our elephant.

Chris took Tanner and bailey and I rode with Tucker. It was fun when we got to ride rides as a family. Tucker LOVED every ride he was big enough to board.

After "Dumbo" we walked over to "Adventure Land" so Tanner could join the "Pirates League".
It was pretty awesome. When we walked in they had him change into Pirate garb and he was given a new Pirate name. So my sweet Tanner boy became "Robert Daggerskull" and he took his new role as a pirate very seriously.
Next he went to get his face painted like a pirate.

I love this one! He held so still!
Here he is taking the pirate oath.

Next he got his pirates league sash.
Then he was taken into the secret treasure room. He was given his pirate pendant and we took some pictures. It was adorable to see how into it Tanner was. So fun!

After joining the "Pirates League", we celebrated by riding "Pirates of the Caribbean". Here's Tanner outside the entrance. We had fast passes for the ride so we walked right on.

We rode the ride as a family and Bailey and Tucker huddled against me the entire time. They were a little scared but it was fun. Tucker kept saying "pirate" "pirate". Lol.
Tanner loved it and since he was part of the "Pirate's League" he felt right at home.

After riding "Pirates of Caribbean" we walked over to "Fantasy Land" and entered the Castle so Bailey could go to the "Bippity Boppity Boutique". She loved that it was inside the Castle it made it so real for her.
Her fairy godmother came and escorted her to her seat. It was so cute.
Right away her fairy godmother started on her hair. Bailey got to pick out a hairstyle that she liked and she picked a high bun with a crown.

I love that she was sitting with her little legs crossed, wearing her sweet little princess shoes.
Her fairy godmother, Kirsten, adding the finishing touches to her hairstyle.
Then it was on to nails and makeup.

Then she was given a princess sash and sprinkled with pixie dust and she was officially a princess.

Then her fairy godmother turned her around so she could see herself in the mirror. The big reveal was the best part. She loved the way she looked.
Don't you love this one?
The moment when she saw the Minnie mouse clip in the back of her hair. She loved it!

Introducing Princess Bailey
Then her fairy godmother walked her back out and went when over to the dress shop, next door, for her photo shoot.
Here are her professional pictures.

After finishing up at BBB, we walked over to "Frontier Land" and met the whole family so we could all ride "Splash Mountain" together. We all had fast passes for the same time so we got to go together without waiting in line.  Sarah and Johnny graciously stayed behind  with Mom to ride the next ride and they keep Tucker and Hazel while the rest of us rode.
Just Tanner and Uncle David hanging out while Aunt Sarah and Uncle Johnny rode "Splash Mountain". I love this picture of them. So cute! I really love Uncle David "First Visit' pin on his shirt. So funny!
Then it was family picture time. Don't you love this big group of red? I made everyone coordinating shirts to wear and ordered everyone mickey/minnie ears. I love my family!

Then it was back over the dress boutique for more family pictures.
Here's my favorite of all the grand kids with Nanny & Papa. It seemed only fitting, since this trip was their gift.
And a full family shot in the boutique. I just love this family of mine!
After pictures everyone else went home, except my family.
We headed over to use Bailey's last fastpass to meet Ariel. She was pretty excited. This was our first character meet and it did not disappoint.
After meeting Ariel, we walked over to one of the train stations and hopped aboard the Disney train.
Considering this was all Tucker had wanted to do since the moment he heart the Train whistle earlier during the day, he was very excited!
He started out sitting next to me, but then realized Dad had the better view and moved over next to him. The train took us all around the park and it was so cool. Tucker loved it!
We had to grab a picture of this train-obsessed boy outside his favorite attraction.
And we had to wait to watch the train pull back out of the station and we waved goodbye to the "choo choo"
After the train, we went to ride "Under the Sea". This turned out to be Bailey's favorite ride of the day. So funny. She loved all the scenes from the little mermaid. Tucker was pretty mesmerized as well.

It was such a cute ride. After we finished there, we started walking back to main street to see the parade. It was nearing sundown and the kids were very excited for the electric light parade.
It did not disappoint.

Bailey loved seeing so many princesses and their princes in the parade.

Tanner loved the Peter Pan part of the parade. We got to see the clock tower and then we saw Peter and Captain Hook dueling on the Jolly Rogers. So fun!

And Tucker lost his mind over the train near the end. Not only was Mickey Mouse driving the train, but it was all lit up with lights. He loved it!

Then we walked around for a little bit while we waited for the fireworks to begin. Then I looked down and realized that two of our three kids were asleep. Lol. Tanner was near collapse too!
We decided to call it a night and we hopped on the ferry boat and headed back to the parking lot to find our car. The kids were completely wiped out. Tanner was a trooper and made it back to the car before passing out.
All three kids did amazingly well. It was a very full day- 13 hours of fun and it was awesome.
I couldn't believe how smoothly our day went. I know that all the planning paid off. We never waited in line for more than 20 minutes and all our fast passes worked out perfectly. We had such a great time.
Stay tuned for our Hollywood Studios day. So much star wars fun!
