General Conference Weekend & Nanny's Birthday in Mtn Home

We got home last night from Mtn Home, after visiting for both General Conference and Nanny's birthday. It was a great trip, even though it literally rained the entire weekend.

We arrived Friday evening and got to hang out and eat dinner with Nanny, Papa & Aunt Laura. Then we eventually got the kids settled into bed and hung out a bit longer.

Saturday morning we slept in and then watched the Saturday morning session of General Conference. After the morning session, I ran Bailey and Tanner into town to go shop at two little stores. Bailey loves the bookstore "Treat yo Shelf" and wants to go there every time we go to Mtn. Home. Tanner wanted to go to the vintage record store to look for some of the bands he likes. Happily, Bailey found a new book and Tanner found a record to buy. They were both quite happy with their purchases.

When we got back to the house, I found Benson and Papa playing Mario Kart together. It was so funny. Their interactions are hilarious and I couldn't help but laugh as I overheard their conversation.

We watched the other two Saturday sessions and enjoyed a "conference charcuterie". This has quickily become one of our favorite traditions. The kids look forward to it each time.

We also tried a new tradition this conference of doing a puzzle together while we listen. The idea was, we keep our hands busy and our ears open so we can  listen and hopefully learn while doing a puzzle.

Then on Sunday morning I made Nanny a birthday cake and then I started the dough for cinnamon rolls. Papa really wanted to learn how to make them so when the dough finished, I taught him how to roll them out and make them himself. He did a great job. Although most of his cinnamon rolls were massive, so we called them "Papa Rolls".
He was pretty proud of his delicious creations and so was I.

Conference was wonderful and the messages delivered by the apostles were inspiring. In-between the morning and afternoon session on Sunday we sang to Nanny and served up her birthday cake.

The kids and I had to leave right before the afternoon session, so we listened to it on the drive home.

We had a wonderfully rainy weekend in Mtn. Home. We literally just hung out all weekend and it was so relaxing and chill. I'm so grateful for the quality time we hate with Nanny, Papa and Aunt Laura this weekend.
