Tonight we got to watch Tanner perform in his first band concert. He was so excited and it was pretty cute. This concert was more of a exhibition to show what they have learned.
Tanner also had a speaking part at the concert. He talked to the audience about how they have been learning and how until the day of the concert, the whole band had never practiced together.
It's so amazing to me that most of these kids had never touched their instruments before this year. They had been playing for less than 4 months and they have all come so far.
Tanner loves playing trumpet. He loves that he plays the same instrument as his Papa.
He works hard to get better and practices frequently.
The band played lots of scales and some other songs too. My favorite song they played was
"Good King Wenceslas" and it sounded really good.

It was a great way to kick off our Thanksgiving break and then get ready for Christmas.
We sure love our sweet 6th grader. He's the cutest little trumpet player ever!
