We've had so much fun recently preparing for Easter. Although its really sad that we can't celebrate Easter with our extended family, we are doing our best to make the most of it.
One day, before Easter, we decided we wanted to egg our friends' houses. We drove over and hid candy-filled Easter eggs all over their yards. We lysoled each one so we didn't spread any germs and it was so fun. We hid the eggs and left the buckets with little notes on their front doors. Then we rang the doorbell and ran to the car. The kids loved it.
I also put together a little egg dying/ egg painting party for the kids and it turned out pretty cute.
The theme was "Painting with my Peeps" and the kids loved it.
I love the peeps theme. The colors were so fun and bright.
Benson loved the peep treats so much. He was so cute posing with his treat. I was cracking up.
Benson is the cutest little 2 year old. He makes us laugh all the time. He has such a funny personality and the best sense of humor.
And these handsome boys are two of my favorites.
Bailey couldn't wait to get started on dying eggs. She also loves peeps treats and couldn't wait to eat hers. I don't actually like the taste of peeps so it cracks me up how much the kids enjoy them.
After I got my cute pictures of the kids, we started dying eggs.
This is always a favorite activity of ours. Tucker, of course, enjoys anything artistic and so he loves dying eggs and trying to achieve different color combinations.
Bailey and Tanner worked hard to get their eggs just right.
Benson very quickly plopped all his eggs into different cups of dye and would scoop them out with his hands. His skin was a million different shades of blue and green before he finished. He loved dying eggs so much.
Bailey was the last one to finish because she took dying her eggs so seriously. She did great and her eggs were beautiful.
Tanner also worked hard and found ways to make different designs using rubber bands on his eggs. It was pretty cool.
I sure love my egg dying kids.
We had a fun little surprise on Friday afternoon. Some sweet friends "egged" our house and the kids loved it so much. We had "egged" some friends earlier during the week so it was fun to get the same surprise in return.
It was so fun to watch them count them up and then divide them between themselves.
Then on the Saturday before Easter, we got to hunt for eggs.
The kids were so excited. They ran outside and immediately went to work hunting for eggs.
I thought they might be disappointed to hunt for real eggs instead of candy-filled plastic eggs, but they weren't.
Bailey even said "I'm so excited to hunt for real eggs because it means we get to have egg salad sandwiches tomorrow." She's so funny.
Benson really enjoyed hunting for eggs.
But then he cracked one of his eggs and peeled back the shell to see that there was no candy and his expression was so funny. He was a bit disappointed.
The rest of the kids kept searching until the eggs were all found. Phew- that's always the risk when you hide real eggs- you may not find them all and then you will have a stinky surprise waiting for you later.
But the kids found them all and it was so fun.
Tucker laid his eggs out for me so he could show me all the colors he found. He was so proud of them.
Tanner likes to think he's too big for stuff like this, but he had a great time hunting for eggs with the other kids. I'm so glad he hasn't completely outgrown this stuff.
Benson eventually got over the eggs not being filled with candy and decided to enjoy himself. He peeled two of his eggs and ate them in the yard. He's so funny.
We sure love our cute little egg hunters. It was such a fun night and we are so excited to celebrate Easter tomorrow and remember the real reason for the holiday.
