4th of July- Take 1 & 2

We had a great Fourth of July and because of some poor weather- it took place over two days- which was twice as nice.
We started off our day at Lake Avalon in Bella Vista with the Lott Family.
We love this little lake and swimming area.
Naturally, the kids had to wear their patriotic swimsuits. They looked so cute.

After swimming at the lake, we went home and changed our clothes and then gathered up some food to take with us and we drove to Grove, OK to visit our new friends, the Heatons.
The Heaton family invited us over for the fourth and so we went to their new home and hung out with them. Our friends, the Birds, served as service missionaries to the Grove ward previously, and they were over for the 4th as well. So we all hung out together. The older kids all enjoyed shooting guns and blowing stuff up. It was very country.
Meanwhile, Tucker and Benson enjoyed building with the scrap wood around their property. The Heatons are building their home and there was a lot of scrap wood around. The boys had a great time building little forts with everything. It was pretty cute.
It was a gorgeous night. The sunset was beautiful if not a little cloudy.

We got to do some fireworks but then it started raining.
We said our goodbyes and then drove the 1.5 hours home.

However, while we were in Grove- NWA was getting pounded with rain. So all of the firework shows got postponed.
Then on the 5th of July, all the firework shows we thought we missed actually happened and we got to enjoy them.
We sat outside our house and watched fireworks go off everywhere around us.  It was awesome.

We did our own fireworks as well and everyone enjoyed it. The kids are getting so big and they have fun putting on a show for us.

I don't know if there is an age when sparklers are no longer fun. We always enjoy them.

Benson pretended to be a wizard and was casting spells with his sparklers.

We had a great "take 2" on our fourth of July and enjoyed spending our night together with beautiful weather. Happy 4th and 5th of July everyone!
