Chris' Birthday Staycation

After our crazy Friday, (field day, prek graduation, graduation party setup for a customer and then packing for the kids), Chris and I met my mom in Alpena and dropped the kids off to her so we could have a weekend to ourselves.
This was a belated birthday celebration and it was so wonderful.
We dropped the kids off and then drove to Eureka Springs (about 45 minutes away) and ate an amazingly delicious dinner at The Grand Tavern.
It was seriously awesome food. We were both stuffed and thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Them we took at walk around downtown Eureka Springs and enjoyed the sites.
Eureka Springs is such a weird little town.
And we had to take a picture in front of this sign because it was too perfect.
Yes, I look exhausted but it was such a great night. I love this man on mine so much!
After dinner we drove back to NWA, grabbed dessert at Red Robin and then went home.
We decided to stay home for this getaway, because it just sounded so nice. With the kids gone, our house was the perfect getaway spot. So quiet and relaxing.

Then on Saturday it was rainy and stormy most the day. We ran to get donuts, get some snacks and all the avengers movies we could find and settled in for a movie marathon.
It was so fun. We snuggled up on the couch and ate all the yummy treats and watched movies all day.
Then we met some friends for dinner at "Big Orange"
The food was pretty good.
We also got to see the new avengers movie "Endgame".

And on Sunday we went to a nice brunch at "The Egg & I".
The food was so good and the company was even better.

Then Sunday afternoon we drove back to Alpena and picked up our kids.
Chris and I had such a great relaxing weekend together. It was just what we needed and I'm so happy we were able to just hang out like old times.
The kids had a great time in Mtn. Home with Nanny and Papa
They got to eat all the good food too!

We all had a great weekend!!
