May Summer Fun

So our summer vacation has officially started. Its almost June, but we had a few days of vacation in May and we did our best to make the most of the end of the month.
After our last day of school party on Tuesday- we went to the library on Wednesday. We signed the kids up for the summer reading program
The theme is "Readers of the Universe". Each of the kids set reading goals of 20 hours, except Benson- his goal is only 1 hour.

Thursday we decided to go to Sam's and get some summer snacks and grab lunch.
Sadly, Daddy couldn't come with us, but the kids always enjoy having lunch at Sam's Club.
Then on Friday morning, we drove over to Reagan Family Farm and picked strawberries.

Benson definitely ate every single berry he picked.

Tucker was my best berry picker.

I love all the berry pickin' kids.
We got a ton of berries and we made a strawberry pie for Daddy.

Daddy leaves tonight for two weeks for annual training and so as our going away gift, we made a delicious strawberry pie for him.
It was really yummy, but it didn't make us feel any better about Daddy leaving.
So tomorrow is June 1st and that marks beginning of Dad's annual training for the Guard.

We will survive but its such a long time. Stay tuned to see what we do to keep ourselves from going crazy!
Also- Yay! Summer vacation has officially started!

Soda-Lighted School is Out!

We had a fun and delicious end of school party this year.
The theme was "Soda-lighted School is out" and it couldn't have been a more appropriate or accurate theme.
I had a lot of fun styling this little party. The balloons were my favorite part of the setup.
And the ombre lettering. It was so fun.

How fun is this color scheme?

These soda combinations were all so delicious.
I think my favorite was "Raspberry Dream"
We had the best time testing all the different combinations and no one even threw up.
Tanner enjoyed "The Malibu" while Tucker enjoyed the "Cherry Sunday"
Benson had a mini serving or the "Raspberry Dream" While Bailey enjoyed "Summer Paradise" the most.

I am not usually a huge soda fan, but adding the flavors made it so fun and they were all delicious!
Now onto SUMMER and all the fun that it brings. I am so happy school is over!

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

We drove over to Mtn. Home on Friday after I did a quick balloon install at Lululemon. We got in late, because it took so long. Since we were the last to arrive, the rest of the cousins were there and they got all excited and did not want to go to sleep. It's both annoying and adorable. We finally got them to sleep and then the next morning  the kids were up early and enjoying playing outside together.
The kids found this turtle in the backyard and they were all fascinated by it. Benson had the funniest interactions with the turtle. I was cracking up.

By mid-morning Papa had the new inflatable water slide blown up and the kids were all soaking wet and having the best time.

Well everyone was soaking wet, except Hazel and Benson. They were busy snuggling with Papa and staying warm.
I think Bailey played the longest. She had so much fun.

Tucker also loved playing.

Benson had more fun once all the other kids left and there was no one left to splash him.
He played calmly and enjoyed himself.

I took him down the slide twice with me but after that, he was done.

Saturday night we had Benson and Hazel's birthday parties and then we had all the kids take showers and get ready for bed.
Sunday morning we went to church with Papa and Nanny. After church we went to the cemetery to pay our respect to our loved ones. We visited Grams and Grandpa Drake.
Only Tanner ever met Grams and we had a great time telling stories about both Great-Grandparents to our kids. It was so fun to help them get to know their great-grandparents better.
After dinner we played outside with the kiddos. Benson got a bubble machine for his birthday and he enjoyed that for a while.

Oh and we had to have a round of laser tag with Papa.

Monday morning the kids were back at it on the water slide.
They spent so much time playing on that inflatable water slide.

The big boys (or the dads) also enjoyed Papa's new race track. He built this platform in his shop so he can lower down to play and then raise it up when he needs to work out in his shop.
It was so funny to see them all out there.
Benson discovered his love for water guns this weekend too.
I love this little boy and all his intensity. He's so funny.
After our memorial day BBQ we relaxed and hung out and snuggled before leaving to drive home.
When we get home, we only have a few days with Daddy before he leaves for annual training so we are trying to soak in all the snuggles while we can.
Benson also enjoyed some snuggles with Max and Hazel. He loves them so much!
We had the best weekend with Nanny and Papa and all the cousins.
It was full of fun, good food and family.
We had to snag a picture with all the grand kids before leaving.

Happy Memorial day everyone!
