Potty Training Tuck

Well I finally gave in and decided to potty train Tucker. He's nearly 3 1/2 years old now but with Benson being so little and none of us sleeping well, I had to wait until I had the energy to start this process. Turns out, maybe waiting was a good idea. Tucker potty trained so easily and quickly.
He had two accidents the first day and none the next. By day three he was going on his own and asking for help when he needed it. He's done so well.
Look at this proud boy! He finished half his sticker chart during the first two days.
I really can't handle this cute boy in his big boy underwear. He's so adorable.
I love this shot of him reading on the toilet. He refuses to stand and pee and only wants to sit. Honestly, I'm ok with it because it's less of a mess for me and it makes for adorable photos like this one.
We also did our traditional "I did it" potty training call board. Whenever Tucker used the potty he got to pick a picture from the call board to tell that person about his success.
I'm so proud of this boy. He's grown up a lot in the last few months and I'm so happy potty training went so easily. Good job Tuck!

Wildcat Welcome at Elm Tree Elementary

Last night we all went to the kids school for their "Wildcat Welcome". It was basically a back to school carnival and the kids had a great time. They played tons of games, ate yummy treats and earned prizes.
The first game was probably their favorite and it wasn't difficult at all. Tanner, Bailey and Tucker each went "fishing" and caught a "TY" beanie boo Dory fish.
They were so excited and they love Dory so it was perfect.
Tanner had his fortune told to him at one of the booths.
Then both Bailey and Tanner had their hair sprayed with hair color.
While Bailey and I waited in line for the face painting and nail painting, Chris took Tanner around to play all the other games.
Eventually it was Bailey's turn to have her nails painted.
True to character, she picked hot pink polish.
Then it was time for the face painting.
Bailey got a butterfly
While Tucker got a kitty cat face.
Bailey was so thrilled to see her sweet teacher Ms. Brown.
Then it was outside for bounce houses and slides. Tanner and Tucker loved it. Bailey went down once, then chilled and enjoyed her treats.

Lastly, we went over to the obstacle course and the kids had a great time running themselves ragged. They were exhausted when we left

The kids had so much fun. I'm grateful for their awesome school and their wonderful teachers.
It was a great kickoff and I'm looking forward to another great school year.

Labor Day Weekend

We had the best long weekend together.
On Friday night Chris and I got to go to Brad Paisley concert. We had a great time!!
Then on Saturday we over to Devil's Den State Park and hiked "Yellow Rock Trail". It was the perfect day. The weather wasn't too hot and the kids didn't complain at all. It was a miracle.

Look at these cute little hikers.
This is "Yellow Rock Trail" overlook. It made me a little nervous to have my kids that close to the edge, but their dad was keeping a close eye on them.
It was about 3 hours of hiking and resting and enjoying the view.
And it was totally worth it.
The kids were such troopers and we had a great time.
Then on Monday, Chris was off work, so we headed over to the lake to hang out with some friends and all our little cousins. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
The lake was turning over so the water was super brown and murky. However, that did not stop everyone from having a great time.

Bailey was so happy to see Annalise and Karina. These girls had the best time playing together.
All the kids swam and played for hours. It was great.

Even little Benson enjoyed floating in the lake.

I love this shot. Benson has his own little fan-club. Everyone is obsessed with him. It's pretty adorable.

Benson napped under our little beach shelter and was such a good boy. We brought a picnic lunch and the kids played for so long together. We almost didn't want to go home.

Look at these cute little boys eating their snacks together.

This boy loved relaxing and he even enjoyed hanging out with the adults.

Tucker, true to form, found a squirt gun and enjoyed shooting me with water as often as possible.
Poor Dave, the kids kept taking over his floatie. It was pretty comical.

Tanner really loved playing "spike ball". The grown men were nice enough to include him.
We had such a nice day at the lake.

After the lake we came home and grilled some burgers and then hung out together until bedtime. We couldn't let the kids stay up late because there is school tomorrow. I miss having my kids home and I miss not having a schedule/routine so I really love our long weekends together.
We had a great Labor Day weekend and now it's back to reality.
