This Halloween You've Got a Friend in Me

This Halloween You've got a Friend in Me!
I had a fun time putting together these "Toy Story" themed costumes.
We've been long time fans of the Toy Story movies so everyone was happy to do this theme.
I don't know who loved their costume more, but Tucker was quite in character as "Woody"

Bailey loved her costume. I enjoyed making her costume. I didn't love the options for most of the "Jessie" costumes so I made this one myself. She loved how it turned out and I really liked it too.

Tanner's costume was definitely the hardest of all the costumes. Spray painting clothing is a huge pain. But he loved it. It's hard to get a 12-year old on board with coordinated anything, so when Tanner got excited about this costume idea, I was quick to jump on board. He made for a pretty great "Green Army Man"

Benson had to be allowed to come up with the idea of him costume on his own.
When I first mentioned the idea of him being Buzz Lightyear, he was firmly set against it.
Then one day when I was working on Tucker's costume, he came in and said "I'm going to be BUZZ LIGHTYEAR" and that was it. After that he was on board and couldn't wait to wear his costume.
He did make for a pretty cute Buzz.

I sure love these cute kids of mine. I really dread the day when they are too cool for themed family costumes. They are so fun and we have really enjoyed the years and years of theme costumes.

We went trick or treating with the cousins on Halloween and came back in time for some dinner and then bedtime. We had a great time and the kids got way too much candy!
Happy Halloween!

Spooky Fun in NWA

We have been staying very busy this month. October is always a busy month and this one was no different.
I did enjoy a "Witches night out" with some girlfriends. My friend Lacey plans this every year for her birthday. Everyone dresses up and we got out to dinner.
I kept it simple this year, black dress, necklace and hat.
It's always fun to see what everyone ends up wearing.

Another night, we did a "trail of fears" drive and loaded up the kids in their halloween pjs and gave them some hot chocolate.
We had a great time seeing all the halloween lights and spooky decorations around the city.
The kids really love when houses have lights set up to dance to scary music. That's always a favorite.
Another night I hosted a movie night for some girlfriends.
I did a popcorn bar with spooky drinks and then a Halloween charcuterie table.

It was really fun. We watched "The others" and ate until we were sick. It was great. This is one of my favorite Halloween traditions. I have been hosting these Halloween movie nights for about 5 years now.
We also made our traditional spooky cookie houses.

We also went to our ward's "Trunk or Treat". Sadly, it rained and we had to move it all indoor. I threw together a table setup in place of trunk decor.
Everyone loved our "booth" and we won best family theme.
Everyone loved Chris' hilarious mustache. He had a few friends take selfies with him. I was cracking up. I love that man and his willingness to wear whatever I ask him to wear.
Tanner's costume was a huge hit. Everyone loved it. He was such a cute green army man.
The young men were in charge of some of the games and he stood guard at the door to make sure not too many kids entered at once. It was the perfect job for him. We were cracking up.

Even our sweet Clementine got to dress up. She made for a very cute alien.

We made our traditional jack-o-lantern pizzas one night.
Each kid made their own, and then Tanner made a big one for Chris and I to share with him.
It was delicious.

We also finally made it to the pumpkin patch.
We tried a new one today in Fayetteville and it was AWESOME!
Funny enough, the kids' favorite part of the pumpkin patch was the corn pit.
They could have played here the whole time. Lol.
Benson was cracking us up. He loved putting his head under the corn. Such a little weirdo.
Eventually, the kids convinced me to get in the corn pit with them.

The kids also enjoyed the jumping pillows!
This ropes course was also a big hit.

Bailey and Tanner both loved the apple cannons.

Benson tried it too but he didn't love it.
The cow train is a tradition but this year Benson wanted no part in it.

Instead he wanted to play basketball. All the kids made their way over there to play with Benson and Dad.

We took a small train ride around the pumpkin patch.

We also played on the tube slides and eventually picked out our pumpkins.

We had so much fun. We will definitely be going back next year.

After the pumpkin patch we met the cousins at "Spooky Street". Spooky street is a cute setup Walmart does. It's a little street setup with tiny houses that are themed. It's so cute. You knock and they bring out candy.

All that fun was a bit much for Benson. He literally fell asleep on our bar stools afterwards.
We had a great time. This month has been super busy but full of fun. We've been fortunate to avoid COVID so far and we are so grateful.
Now, tomorrow is Halloween. Stay turned for trick or treating fun.
