Tanner's First "Blue and Gold Banquet"

Tonight we got to go to Tanner's Cub Scout "Blue and Gold Banquet".
He loved it so much. Tanner loves everything about cub scouts and I'm so happy that he does. It means I get his full enthusiasm whenever there is anything we have to work on together.
So the ward fed everyone dinner at the banquet, but they asked the boys to bring a dessert to share and awards were given for creativity. Tanner picked out what he wanted to do and I helped him make it. He was so funny about it. He knew just what he wanted and he worked so hard.
I cut out the baskets, fry bags and the brownies shaped like burger patties.
Then Tanner did all the rest. He piped on the different color frostings, he added sprinkle sesame seeds and he stacked the cupcakes to look like burgers. I like of love how they turned out.
Then he helped me roll out the cookie dough and then we sprinkled it with sugar and baked them. Then as soon as we took them out of the oven, we cut them with a pizza cutter into skinny fries and placed them in the fry bags.
Presenting Tanner's cupcake burger sliders with a side of sugar cookie fries.
He was so happy with his dessert. All night at the banquet he watched as people came and got one of our desserts and then he would turn to me excitedly and say "Mom, look someone else wants to try our treat." He loved it!
I had to snap a few pictures of my boy during the banquet program.
He looks so handsome in his little wolf uniform.
How cute are these boys?
During the awards ceremony part of the banquet Tanner was called forward and asked about some of the adventure loops he earned. He was so serious up there. It was cracking me up.
But he was brave and spoke into the microphone.
His leaders talked about Tanner a little bit and said what a fun kid he was. They said he brings a great energy and enthusiasm to their den and the love having him in their group.
I'm grateful for Tanner's cub scout leaders and their hard work.
Tanner loved winning an award for his dessert.
He won "Best Presentation" and he was so excited.
This boy had a great time at his first "Blue and Gold Banquet" and I'm so glad we were all able to be there together. We sure love our cute little cub scout.

Bailey's Student of the Week/Rise & Shine

Last Friday, Bailey was announced as student of the week for her class. Her teacher texted me the night before to tell me in case I wanted to be there. Of course, I wanted to be there to see her face when her named was called and I'm so glad I didn't miss it.
This is when she noticed me in the audience. She then ran over and gave me a big hug. She asked me why I was at her school and I said, I just wanted to be there. Then she said "I hope someday I get to be student of the week" and I had to hold back my grin.
Then her sweet teacher called out her name and Bailey was so thrilled.
So all this past week she's been able to do fun stuff as the Student of the Week.
On Monday she got to bring in a spotlight sheet that we filled out together. Tuesday she brought in 5 pictures of herself to share. On Wednesday I got to have lunch with her.
She was so happy that I came. Here she is before we ate lunch.
And making silly faces together.
It was so fun. I brought her lunch from sonic like she requested and we enjoyed it with her little brothers.
Then after first grade lunch, second graders came in. So I got to have lunch with Tanner boy too.
We had also brought lunch from Sonic for him. He was pretty thrilled.
I didn't get to have lunch with him when he was "Student of the Week" so this helped make up that.

Then today, Bailey's class performed in the school's rise and shine assembly.
Their program was themed around President's day and it was adorable. The kids all wore "Red, White & Blue" and they sang about the presidents- especially George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
Bailey learned so many cool facts about past presidents and she was telling them to us all week long. It was hilarious. I had to fact check her sometimes because I had never heard some of the things she was telling us. But she was right and all her facts were actually true.

Bailey's part in their program was to announce the sides available for lunch that day. She did a great job and was so brave.
Here they are singing their "Presidential Celebration" song. It was so cute.

Her class also made a video with each kid reciting a fact about a past president. Bailey's fact was "President Abraham Lincoln was very strong. He won almost 300 wrestling matches".
I'm so proud of this girl. It was a great week spent celebrating the wonderful student that she is and her class' "Rise and Shine" was the perfect culminating event.
Here's a group picture of Bailey's whole class after their "Rise and Shine"

They did great and we are so proud of our smart first grader girl!

Tanner's Second Grade Musical

Tonight we finally got to see the long-awaited second grade musical. It was circus themed and it was as adorable as you would imagine. Luckily for us, we were able to use Tanner's Halloween costume for his musical and it was perfect. He looked so cute!

The stage at his school was set up like a big top and all the kids were in cute costumes.
It was so adorable.
The musical was called "Circus Circus"  and the kids sang a ton of songs.
First up was "When the Circus comes to town".

Then they sang two songs from "Moana"- they sang "How Far I'll Go" and "We Know the Way".
Then they sang "Who wants to be a Ringmaster" and a song from "Sing" called "Don't Worry 'bout a Thing."
Then they sang a song called "The Mane Event"  and another called "Lions and Tigers and Bears and Trolls". Then they sang a song from "Trolls" called "Can't stop the Feelin'"
It was so cute. Tanner really loved "Can't Stop the Feelin"
I love watching that kid sing. He is so cute.
The kids ended their program by singing "When the Circus Comes to Town" again and then they all took a bow together. So adorable.

I was so proud of Tanner. He learned all the words to all the songs and he sang his little heart out. It was adorable. I love that boy. Good job sweet Tanner bear!

Valentine's Day 2018

Valentine's day fell on a Wednesday this year and so we started off our day of love with an early morning breakfast and the kids found gifts waiting for them at their places at the table. They were so thrilled with the books they received. We try to give books in place of toys whenever we can and I love that the kids are just as excited about new books as they are about toys.

Then I got to go to Tanner's class valentine's day party. He was pretty thrilled to see me and his little brothers at his party.
We worked really hard yesterday to finish his valentine box. He LOVED how it turned out and couldn't wait to take it to school today.
Oh and the best part of any class valentine's party is the sorting of cards.
It's always so fun to watch the kids exchange valentines and then sort through theirs. I love it!

All the boys loved their paper airplanes. They went out into the hallway and had flying competitions. It was pretty cute! They had a great party.

Next I took the little boys to have lunch with Daddy  and then went to Bailey's class party alone. I am one of her class room moms and so I wanted to be able to help without worrying about my other kids. It was so nice and Bailey was so happy to see me. She ran up and gave me a big hug.
We put together an ice cream bar for her class and the kids loved it.
Here is Bailey with her ice cream cup.
Then the kids passed out their valentines
Bailey was so fun to watch as she went through her valentines. She LOVED everything she got.

I forgot to get a before picture, but this is the game I brought for the class. It was a big hit.
Each cup was covered with tissue paper and had a prize inside. The kids had to punch through the paper to get their prize. They LOVED it.
I really love Bailey's teacher. She's so cute, young and energetic. Bailey really adores her.
After Bailey's party, I checked her and Tanner out of school early and we went home.
We got the little boys from Dad and then we enjoyed a quite afternoon together.
Benson went down for a nap and then Tuck fell asleep  next to us while we all read books.
I love that my kids love to read and can do it happily next to me while I read my book.
We enjoyed some good snuggles in my bed until Daddy got home.
Then we made heart shaped pizzas and watched "Wonder". It was such a great movie and I definitely plan on buying it. It was a wonderful valentine's day spent with our family.
We definitely felt the love!
Oh and I need to post these adorable pictures we took for valentine's day.

These kids are my favorite!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.
