Tucker's 100th Day of Kindergarten

Today was this cutie pie's 100th day of kindergarten. I was sort of shocked when he agreed to let me help dress him up like a 100 year old man. He's really not one for any sort of attention. He doesn't like everyone looking at him but he said he wanted to dress up and he even wanted me to spray his hair. This was a dream come true for me and he looked so adorable.
He said his teacher, Mrs. Johnson, loved his costume and he enjoyed his 100th day of kindergarten. The kindergarten team made the day so special for the kids. They had special snacks and activities all day and Tucker loved it.
I'm so proud of this boy and all the growth he has made this year so far. I'm so incredibly grateful for his awesome teacher. He loves school. He loves Mrs. Johnson and he loves learning.
He was the cutest 100 year old man ever.
Happy 100th day Tucker!

Snow Day Delay

This morning we got his with some fun white stuff. We haven't had much snow this winter and its been disappointing. The school called early this morning and said we would have a delayed start.
So I quietly turned off the kids alarm clocks in hopes that they would sleep in.
Sadly, they did not. They still woke up early. But it turned out to be perfect because we got to watch the snow come down together.
It really wasn't much and it melted quickly, but it was a fun surprise.
Benson was so funny. He hasn't had a ton of experience in the snow so this was fun for him.
He didn't enjoy how cold it was, but he did enjoy grabbing and throwing the snow.
I love this little face so much.
Bailey really wanted to make snow angels. Sadly, there wasn't a ton of snow on the ground so it wasn't ideal for snow angels.

Tucker worked hard making a snow man with the very little snow we had. It was more like a snowy lump. But he was proud of his creation.
Tanner was all about making and throwing snowballs.
We played for awhile out in the snow, but then we came inside and warmed up with hot chocolate. We got dressed for the day and then watched a movie until it was time for school to start. The delayed start was set for 10 am and it was so nice to have a relaxing, fun morning together.
We sure hope we get a few more snows this year, but if not- this was a fun little surprise.

Bailey's "Rise and Shine"

This morning I got to go to Bailey's "Rise and Shine" school showcase.
She was so happy to see Benson and I there in the audience.
The entire class did great and we were happy to be there to see it. I love getting to be present for small things like this that mean so much to my kids.
Bailey did great on her speaking part and their whole program was adorable.
Bailey's part was to the pledge of allegiance.
Then they showed a video of all the kids telling their resolutions for the new year.

Bailey resolved to help the earth more by picking up trash this year.
I was a little surprised by her goal but I think its a great one.

Bailey loved participating in her class' "Rise and Shine" assembly and now we just have one more to go to this year. We are waiting to see Tanner's class' showcase this year still.
But Bailey's class did a great job! Way to go Mrs. Behnke's class!

Our NEON New Year!

We just had an awesome NEON NEW YEAR!
We celebrated with all our cousins and it was so much fun.
We had fun neon treats like neon jello, cosmic brownies and neon iced snack cakes.
Oh and all the little champagne glasses had sour candies in the bottoms and the kids loved that.
We had so much fun partying together. We just served appetizers and desserts.
It was easy and the kids loved it.

Doesn't everyone look so cute in their neon clothes. The kids loved this party so much.

After we had dinner, we started our NEON dance party. We had tons of glow sticks and glow in the dark balloons. Chris also got his black light out and the kids loved that so much.
We had some awesome dances!

These sweet neon babes had the best time partying together.
We took breaks from dancing to have some more snacks. The kids really loved all the little treats.

Eventually we went outside to light off our fireworks.
This is always a favorite for the kids. They love fireworks and the Dads love to help them shoot off fireworks.

These cute girls were trying to hide from the noise together. They were so cute. They kept hiding their little heads together and screaming whenever the fireworks went off.
I sure love these kids.

After fireworks, we all came inside and got ready to ring in the new year.
We poured sparkling cider for everyone and watched the ball drop.
It was so cute to watch all the kids toasting and ringing in the new year together.

I had to get a picture of the husbands together. They were so funny posing together. They are such great sports and put up with all the partying and their ugly neon shirts.
After ringing in the new year, we played board games for a while before it was time to go bed.

We had so much fun. I am so tired today after dancing so much last night but it was awesome.
We are excited for 2020 and all the fun it will hold. We have a fun trip planned to Texas in March and a trip to Disney planned for October.
We are also making some goals for our family. We are excited for another year of "Come, Follow Me" this year. We will be studying The Book of Mormon this year and I know its going to be so great for our family.  I, personally, am resolving to read the entire Book of Mormon again this year.
Chris and I also want to have monthly date nights to keep our marriage and relationship a priority.
My goal word for the year is "Intentional" because I feel like there are so many things I want to do and I have a very limited amount of time to get things done so I really feel like I need to be intentional with the things I decide to spend my time on. I just can't do everything anymore. I'm feeling the pressure and it's making me frustrated. So I have to decide what things are priorities to me and make it happen. I'm excited. It's going to be a great year!
Welcome 2020!
