Girl's Trip to Florida

I just got home from the most wonderful girls' trip.
We had planned this trip in celebration of Erin's 40th birthday and the time finally came.
I left on Monday morning with April and Erin Lowden and we drove down to Perdido Key, Florida.
It was the morning after our big Easter weekend and we were all exhausted but so excited to be going away for the week. We left early and drove all day but none of us minded. We just drove and chatted and ate yummy food. It was so fun. We even got to stop at "Buc-cee's" on the way and I got to introduce the girls to the best gas station ever. It was a big hit.
We eventually made it to our condo. It was a cute little beach side condo with a wonderful view.
After we got settled and unpacked we ran to the groceries and then grabbed some dinner.
We all passed out early the first night after our long drive.

The next morning we slept in and then enjoyed a nice breakfast on our balcony.
It was so nice to get to make breakfast for myself and get to eat it while it was still warm.
Also, you can beat that view.

After our deliciously relaxed breakfast, we went down to the beach to relax and enjoy ourselves. It was so fun! We read, chatted, walked in the surf and just relaxed.
I sure love these girls!

Seriously I don't think I've ever been so relaxed on a trip before.

That afternoon we decided to go parasailing. This was definitely the highlight of the trip.
We took a banana boat ride out to the big boat and that was also very fun.
We boarded the boat and then got strapped into the parasail. It was so fun to get to go together. We all loved it.
We laughed and giggled the entire time and it was awesome.

At the end of our ride they dipped  us into the ocean. We all squealed and laughed. It was cold but so fun.

Here we are afterward- the survivors!
I made us coordinating shirts for the trip. Erin's shirt says "40 and Fabulous" and mine and April's shirts said "Fab 40 Crew"

Afterwards we relaxed, cleaned up and went to dinner.

That night we went out to one of my favorite places in the area- Sunset Grill.
Chris and I love taking the kids here when we go to the beach.
We enjoyed our virgin pina coladas and seafood dinners.
After our dinner we walked along the pier and enjoyed the gorgeous sunset.

On Wednesday we headed to the beach again. We relaxed and I got to read some more. It was so nice.
The day was very quiet and just what we needed.

After getting cleaned up we drove over to "Tacky Jack's" for dinner
Erin and I had been wanting crab legs and so we made it happen. They did not disappoint.

Afterwards we drove 30 minutes away for some amazing milkshakes.
We decided we had the time and since we didn't have any kids we could handle the line.
There was definitely a line but we didn't mind. The shakes were massive but so delicious.

We got in late that night and decided to watch a movie. We slept in the next morning and then grabbed some brunch. The food was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Then we drove over to the outlet malls and spent the day shopping. It was so nice.
We came back in time to spend our late afternoon and evening at the beach.

Then we drove into Pensacola to go to my favorite wood-fired pizza place, "The Tuscan Oven".
Dinner was delicious. I love the pizza from this little place. We use to come here with the Harbers when they lived in Pensacola.

We ended our last night with some ice cream. Then it was back to our condo for our last night.

Friday morning we woke up and headed out to drive back. We did stop at "Buc'cess" for some brisket tacos. They were delicious.
We talked the whole way home and discovered the drive is pretty nice when you don't have to take care of anyone but yourself. We had a wonderful time. We hope to make it an annual trip but if not, then we will for sure go again when April turns 40 in 3 years. Then we will have to go again for my 40th birthday in 6 years. We will be looking forward to it whenever we get to go again.
Cheers to wonderful girls' trips.
