Our First Trip to "The Gathering Place"

We finally visited "The Gathering Place" in Tulsa, OK. I've been wanting to go for a couple of years, but it was a little intimidating to take all four kids alone. However, since Chris is still working from home, we decided to take a day and drive over together to surprise the kids. I actually sat in the back with the kids and we did their school lessons on the way to Tulsa. By the time we got there we had finished both our math and language arts lessons. The kids were so excited when we pulled up and they got a look around. The place was nearly empty because school was in session for most everyone else. It was perfect weather and we had the best time.
"The Gathering Place" is 100 acres of riverfront land that has been developed into an amazing park.
The playgrounds were amazing and we had so much fun!
I love this little banana boy!
How cool is this crane playground? The slides were so fun!

I think our favorite playground was the wooden castle playground.
The netted walkways and climbing areas were so fun. Benson even loved it.

Tuck loved the boats too!

Another favorite was the zipline swing. Benson did it once and was over it, but the rest of the kids loved it.

I had packed us a picnic lunch before we left our house, so we stopped halfway through our day to take a break and eat. We found a nice building with lots of empty tables to eat at and we had a wonderful picnic lunch. Then it was a quick bathroom break and back to the playgrounds.
Benson loved the mirror maze. He was so funny.

Then we did the netted octagons.

Our last stop was the chutes. This was a slide playground that was kind of hidden on the backside of the park. It was pretty great and not crowded.

These two brothers had a blast racing down the slides together.

We even did a train down the slide. I may have gotten stuck a few times but we still had fun.
At this point, it was about 2:30 pm and the park was starting to fill up. So we decided to leave. We found a "Braums" and grabbed some ice cream and then started the drive home. It was such a great day. I'm so grateful that Chris is working from home and was able to take a day off with us.

We can't wait to go back to "The Gathering Place" again. It was definitely a hit!
