This month has been a bit crazy between Chris being gone for military training and all the different HS band commitments, but we've managed to squeeze in some Halloween activities.
On one Friday night when the HS had an away game and Tanner and Bailey weren't required to be at the game, we were able to have a Halloween movie night. I put together a skeleton themed movie night and we had so much fun. We made jack-o-lantern pizzas and had popcorn and treats. I also put together a little soda bar with these cute skull shaped cups.
We watched an edited version of "Sleepy Hollow". It was ok. We didn't love it but it was stil fun to be together.
We also found time on a weeknight to do our "Trail of Fears" drive. I looked up all the houses in the area that have Halloween decorations and we put on our Halloween pjs. I also made us some Halloween hot cocoa that the kids drank in their skeleton cups.
There were some awesome houses that had lights and projected things onto their homes. We listened to spooky music while we drove around. It was fun and it's one of our favorite traditions.
Lastly, we found time to carve pumpkins. We didn't want to carve them too early, because they rot so quickly. Some of the pumpkins turned out better than others but the kids had fun regardless.
Now Halloween is just a few days away and I'm more than ready for it. Chris gets home from his military training tomorrow and I'm so excited. It's been challenging managing all the Halloween fun, plus school and church obligations without him. We are excited to have him home and to enjoy Halloween together.
