Directly after Stake Conference, I had a wonderful trip with my bestie, Christie. I picked her up from the airport on Tuesday and we immediately hit up sonic and then left to drive to Branson.
Once we got to Branson, we checked in at our resort. We stayed at "Falls Village" and we uploaded our stuff. Then we drove over to Walmart to stock up on snacks and treats. It's a little ridiculous how badly we eat when we are together. We did buy some protein drinks and some fruit. After Wal-Mart we went back to the room to put groceries away and then we went to get dinner.
We were laughing so hard because from the second Christie got in my van at the airport, she literally talked non-stop the entire 2-hour drive to Branson. So then at Dinner it was my turn to talk. We did all our catching up on the first day together. We only see each other once a year and so it always takes a while to get caught up.
While we were driving to Branson, Christie told me about a bucketlist item and we made a plan to make it happen. Christie had always wanted to have a big cat interaction. Luckily for her, we were in Branson, where something like a "Big Cat Interaction" is not out of the ordinary.
After dinner we did the necessary googling to figure out how to make her dream come true.
We ended our night with snacks and a chick flick.

Wednesday morning and early afternoon was spent at the pool. After last year's accidental swimsuit matching, we made sure to buy matching swimsuits this year. I love them! The brown ribbed material is so cute. We stocked our Stanley cup trays with snacks, filled our water bottles and hit the pool for a few hours. It was such perfect weather and the pool was basically empty.
After the pool we got ready and went shopping. We hit up the outlet mall and TJMaxx/Ross scene. Then we grabbed dinner before going back to the hotel.
Thursday was the big day. We had booked tickets at the wildlife adventure park. Christie booked a VIP experience with a Ceraval and she was so excited. We visited the lorikeets first and then it was time for her animal encounter. I didn't have the VIP experience ticket, but I did get to meet a few other animals. My favorite was the baby kangaroos. They were adorable.
After we finished the animal encounters, we did the drive through portion of the zoo. It was so hilarious. There really were just mainly alpacas, donkeys and a few other random animals but we got to feed them and it was pretty fun.
Then we finished off our zoo adventure by doing the walking portion. We fed lots of goats and since it was getting warm, we were ready to call it quits.
Christie was pretty thrilled with her big cat experience and we had a great morning at the zoo. Then we decided it was time for lunch and donuts. So we grabbed food before heading back to the hotel.
After that we went back to the room and changed into pjs. We took naps and then watched tv and movies the rest of the day and night.
Friday was again spent mostly at the pool. We floated around in our pool floaties, listening to our audiobooks and chatting. It was great.
We grabbed an early dinner, did a little more shopping and then went back to the room to do collagen masks and eat our "Ben & Jerry's". It was the perfect way to end our night. We had a delicious dinner at "Local Flavor" and we loved our country fried chicken and Ben & Jerry's is always the right choice for dessert.
Today we had to wake up and pack up so we could head back to NWA. We did have enough time to grab a late lunch before Christie's flight but we were both so sad that our trip was over.
Christie is the kind of friend that distance doesn't affect. We could talk every day or once a week and it wouldn't affect our friendship. We've been there for each other through hard things and we've grown as women and mothers together. I'm incredibly grateful for her and our friendship. Until next time!!!
