Christmas Fun

Despite all the COVID restrictions in place around the state, we've still been able to have quite a bit of normal holiday fun.
With that being said, our normal Santa letter drop off was closed this year. We were able to find a place that was taking Santa letters though and the kids were so happy.

It will never not be weird to see my kids wearing face masks everywhere we go.

This year we mailed our letters at "Peel Mansion" and then looked around the site a little. It was so pretty all decked out for Christmas.

Another of our favorite things was able to still happen- "Fireman Santa" still came around the city this year. However, this year he wore a mask and so did we.
I also made sure we got to have a Christmas class party.
This year it was gingerbread house themed and I loved styling it.

I love how each kid's personality is so obvious in their house.
Never was there a more stark difference than Benson and Tucker. Benson tried his best to stick all the candy he could on his house, while Tucker painstakingly decorated his house.

I found the cutest leggings and sweatshirt at Wal-Mart and plan to live in them the rest of the month.
On another night, we made snowman pizzas and watched "Home Alone". That is one of our favorite holiday movies and I love to listen to the kids laugh their way through it.

Another of our holiday traditions continued this year too, with masks of course. We got to ring the salvation army bell and it was great.
Everyone except Benson enjoyed it. He was pretty grumpy the whole time.

I love taking my kids to serve others and they loved watching the metal bucket fill with money from the kindness of strangers. It does all our hearts good to see the good in the world still.

We also squeezed in our favorite "minivan express" and took the kids around to see lots of light displays.
Each kid enjoyed their hot cocoa and Christmas cookie.
We loaded up and took off to check out all the lights. I always love this tradition. We take turns picking Christmas carols and singing along. It's so fun.
We always love the houses that have lights set to music.

When we got home that night, the kids all slept around the tree. It was so cute.
I have memories of sleeping around our Christmas tree and the kids loved it.

We have had a blast this month and it's helped life feel a little more normal. We are excited for Christmas this week and I can hardly believe how fast the month went by. We are enjoying our break from homeschooling and can't wait for some relaxing, post Christmas days together.
