Bailey's Tap Recital

We just got home from Bailey's first tap recital. She had a ballet recital back in December but this was her first tap recital. It was pretty adorable. After her recital in December, Bailey got a new teacher. The adjustment went pretty well and the class size shrunk by more than half when we went back to class after Christmas. So we got a little more one-on-one time with the new teacher.
We practiced with our DVD at home and we were both pretty sick of this song by the time the recital came around. But the time came and Bailey rocked it.
I just love this little girl and all her sass.
Tap is not Bailey's favorite, she prefers ballet. But she learned the dance and I'm proud of her for that. It wasn't easy. She is the youngest in her class and she doesn't always remember how to focus. She's an easily distracted three year old but she did great.
Although this was the money shot for the night. I took this at her dress rehearsal and it cracks me up.  She dropped her pom pom on the ground and turned around to pick it up. I love this so much.
Nothing really funny happened at the actual recital, but this cracked me up.
Another funny moment during the dress rehearsal happened when these two cuties bumped bottoms when they were doing their backwards hops. The other little girl was hopping the wrong direction and her and Bailey bumped. It was pretty cute though.
This is the magical moment when all three girls were on the same move and the same time.
Their favorite part is the hopping around at the end.  pretty cute stuff.
And the ending bow.
Then at the end all the dancers  performed a finale number together
There were so many dancers. It was a very long rehearsal.
Daddy was gone this weekend for drill so I got to spend a lot of time with this sweet and sassy girl.
The recital went so great. The girls were focused  and they did so great together.
Bailey definitely earned herself a bouquet of flowers. She was pretty thrilled with herself.
This girl totally rocked her recital and we are so happy to have a break from dance for the summer. She earned it!

The One Where Christie and Emily Rock a Weekend in Tulsa

I just got home from an AMAZING weekend with my best friend, Christie Thornock. We spent 3 1/2 days in Tulsa, OK without our kids or husbands. It was kind of perfect.
I had a beautiful and QUIET drive without any children. I listened to an audio book and enjoyed every second of it.
I arrived at our hotel about an hour before Christie and got settled in.
I can't even tell you how awesome it was to just sit there in a quiet hotel room and read.
When Christie arrived we headed out for dinner. Our first stop, "Cheesecake Factory" and it was perfect. We ordered some cheesecake to go and went back to our hotel to watch some "Grey's Anatomy"
We watched the entire series on netflix before our trip. Our goal on our trip was to get through as much of the current season together as we could.
We watched one episode of "Grey's" and then headed out to watch "Pitch Perfect 2"
It was completely awesome.
Then it was back to our hotel for more "Grey's"and chatting until we fell asleep.
The next day was Friday and after sleeping in, we left our hotel to go shop.
We shopped until lunch when we went and got some sushi. SO YUMMY.
Our spoils from our shopping day.
Then it was back to our hotel for a relaxing evening of "Grey's" and cheesecake.
The next morning we had our "Inflatable 5K".
It had been raining the entire day before, so everything was soggy.
But we decided to make the most of the gross weather and get extra dirty.
We jumped in all the big puddles and slid down the slides on our stomachs.
The 5K was an inflatable obstacle course and it was so awesome.
We had a blast running through the whole thing.
There were 8 inflatables and we laughed our way through the entire thing.
We were a little more than sad when it was over. I would have happily ran it all again.
Here is me with my completion medal.
We went back to our hotel and cleaned up. We were entirely covered in mud and we were soaking wet. So it felt so nice to get cleaned up.
We went to lunch at "ihop" and ate so much. Yes, that's all my food and yes I ate it all.
Next we did some more shopping and then we went and got pedicures
and manicures. Aren't our nails pretty?
We followed the mani/pedis with delicious, juicy burgers and creamy milkshakes.
So good!
Then it was more shopping and then back to the hotel for more "Grey's"

The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and then packed up. We watched a couple more episodes of "Grey's" and the checked out of hotel.  We only made it halfway through the season of "Grey's Anatomy"  but I think that's pretty impressive.
We decided to end our weekend with lunch at "Olive Garden".
We both were sad it was over. Our weekend flew by way too fast!!!
We said our goodbyes outside Olive Garden and then both left to drive back to our real lives.

Reality was a little hard to come back to, but my cute kids and helpful husband cushioned the blow.
We had so much fun this weekend. We enjoyed being able to chat over hot meals. We enjoyed having room service clean up after us. We enjoyed being able to get out of the car without having to unbuckle any car seats. There were lots of little things we enjoyed about our weekend and we are both looking forward to our next girls trip in two years. Until then Christie, thanks for the fun! And thanks to my husband for willingly taking care of the kids while I had a small break. He's is kind of perfect.

Memorial Day Fun 2015

We had a such a nice Memorial day. We spent the afternoon playing in our backyard. We set up the water table, the slip-n-slide and the blowup pool. It was awesome.
It was hot and the water was just right. The kids had so much fun.
Tanner was rocking it on the slip-n-slide
I just love these little cuties.
Tucker loved his new pool. He had so much fun splashing around. Tanner loved jumping into the pool and splashing everyone.
This is little diva had so much fun!
Even little Tucker tried out the slip-n-slide.
They played so well together.
We took a short watermelon break.
Then we were back at it. This time I climbed into the pool- it was a little crowded but the kids didn't seem to mind.
I love this chubby boy
Then Tanner asked me to do the slip-n-slide, I wasn't the most graceful but Tanner thought it was pretty funny.
These kiddos are the best. We had so much fun!
Then Daddy grilled us the most delicious burgers.
They were thoroughly enjoyed by all
Doesn't that look yummy?
We are so grateful that we were all able to be together to celebrate this day.
Happy Memorial Day!
