Our First Snow Day

We finally got a snow day and the kids and I couldn't be more excited. Even Daddy got to stay home from work to play with us.  We started off the morning with chocolate chip pancakes, but because the snow it white, Tanner insisted we use white chocolate chips. The pancakes were a big hit. 

Then we immediately got bundled up and headed outside to play in the snow. Luckily for us, our driveway is ridiculously steep so we had a great time sledding down it over and over again.

I was surprised by how much Bailey enjoyed the sledding.

They had so much fun. We played and played!

We played outside for an hour before our hands got cold. 

Bailey enjoyed sledding with her Daddy too. 

Oh and we had to make snow angels. 

Then Bailey turned over and made one on her tummy. lol. This girl cracks us up.

Then we went inside to get warm for a little bit. We drank some hot cocoa and watched "Peter Pan".

Then Tucker woke up, so we got dressed again and took Tucker outside to enjoy his first ever snow. 

Here are all three of my babies on the sled. 

Tucker really loved sledding. I would just gently pull him around the backyard and he laid there and smiled the entire time. 

Then we went back to the driveway and went sledding some more. 

I just love these kids and I love that we all enjoy the snow. 

I think Tucker was a fan of the snow.

Then we went back in for lunch and naps. 

We watched another movie after naps and played outside again until dark. 

Then it was time to eat dinner and take baths. 

The kids slept so hard because we spent all day playing in the snow. 

Then today, Thursday, Clark and Danny came over to hang out while their parents went to a visa  appointment. We played outside again. Believe me, getting 5 kids ready took a while, but the kids enjoyed the snow so it was worth it. 

We even made a little snowman. 

We had fun with the cousins, but we are happy the roads are clearing off so we can get out and about again. I wonder how much longer Winter will stick around. It took a while for the winter weather to arrive, but maybe it's here for a while. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

The kids woke up to this sight for our Valentine's Day  morning. 

There was a wrapped book for each of our little love bugs, candy and a card. Tanner and Bailey were pretty excited about their new books and candy. 

I also got a surprise for Valentine's Day. I am so obsessed with these brookside chocolates and my flowers are absolutely gorgeous. I have a sweet husband. 

I made Chris a heart-shaped breakfast that included heart-shaped biscuits and gravy, heart shaped bacon, eggs and heart shaped strawberries.  

After breakfast I got these cuties dressed in their valentine's day clothes. Aren't they cute?

I just love this picture of Daddy and Tucker. That boy loves his Dad. 

For lunch we had  heart shaped pizza

The kids loved it. 

Then it was time for naps. While they napped, I made these chocolate covered strawberries. 

Chris and I also cleaned and organized the garage, because we are super romantic like that. 

Then we made dinner. Chris grilled some steaks and we had lobster mac-n-cheese and salad. It was so delicious. 

Then for dessert I made this cake for Chris. This is the same cake I made for Chris the day before he proposed. I secretly think this is reason he finally asked me to marry him. lol.
It's a four layer triple chocolate torte cake. So yummy. 

Then we put the kids to bed and Chris and I got to snuggle up and watch a movie. 

It was  nice relaxing Valentine's day. 

I am so lucky to have so many loves in my life. 

Playgroup Valentine's Day Party

Today we had a little playgroup valentine's day party. 

How cute are these two little love bugs?

this year Bailey asked for a "Rapunzel Tower" as her valentines box. She loved getting to help me make it and she loves how it turned out 

We had a little party at a friend's house and everyone brought stuff to contribute. I was in charge of the decorations and I think everything turned out so cute. The food was all red and white and so cute!. 

We ate love-muffins

There were sweet & sugary donuts

and savory sausage bites.

These strawberry parfaits were yummy and

the pink strawberry milk was a pretty cute idea. 

These little mini quiche were so yummy

All-in-all, the party was a bit hit.

We had about 20 kids and 10 adults. The kids all brought their valentines to exchange. Bailey enjoyed passing out her little bubble valentines.

We made these cute little cards to go with her bubbles.

The kids and I had a great time at our little party and although we are sad Tanner had to miss it, but we had fun with all our little friends.

Don't you just LOVE this face? I know I do. 

Today I got to go to Tanner's preschool Valentine's day party. It was adorably cute.

Tanner kept showing me each valentine he received.

Each kid got to take a turn passing out their valentines to everyone in the circle. 

Then it was time for snacks. Tanner doesn't really like sweets, so he only ate his orange and his pretzels but he was sweet enough to give him his cupcake. I gladly accepted and enjoyed it. 

I just love this. They are such little people. Sitting at the table and talking amongst themselves. 

These were the valentines that Tanner and I made this year. He wrote his name on each card and helped me by placing the playdoh in the cutout circle. There were 18 cards, so he got a lot of practice writing his name. 

He thought they were very cool and all the kids in his class liked them!

We also made Tanner a valentine's box. He chose a "Transformers" theme and we went for an "Optimus Prime" looking box. He loved how it turned out. 

We had a great time at his party and I am so grateful I got to be there for it.
