Life Update

Just a quick update on normal life, outside of fun events and trips.
Laura came over to visit for a week or so while Chris was gone to school and we enjoyed some quality time on the lake paddleboarding. I've been going almost weekly with my friend Jessie Lott, and this time Laura got to come along. It was a beautiful day on the lake.
Having time with Laura is always a bonus. I'm grateful she came out to visit

My friend Chantyl also came out to visit for a few days from Utah and we were able to spend some time together. We went to the temple and brunch. We also got to do some shopping one day and another night all the ladies came over to my house so we could talk and hang out after bedtime.

We also celebrated President Nelson's 100th birthday. I can't believe he is 100-years old because he still has so much energy. It's almost intimidating. But we had a good time celebrating him and watching the broadcast for his birthday. I'm so grateful for a living prophet who receives revelation from God and leads us daily.

We also just had our annual Stake Women's conference. It was themed around Pres. Nelson's talk "Think Celestial" and it featured 8 different classes broken up into 4 sessions. It was an all day event and it was a lot of work but it was awesome.
The sisters that were able to attend all really enjoyed their time and I thought it came together wonderfully. I'm so grateful I get to work with these amazing women.

Tucker and Benson participated in our Ward's primary program. They both did amazing and this was the first year that Benson willingly participated. He sang the songs and did his part and didn't glare at me the entire time- it was a wonderful change of pace.
I love these cute brothers so much!

Bailey had a band concert recently too.
It was a low key concert, held in the Junior High gym. They did great and sounded awesome.

We also started a new tradition leading up to our stake conference. We've been feeling the need to teach our kids and prepare them for the temple. We wanted them to know the covenants they will make and understand what it means- before making them.
We went to the temple every week and discussed each covenant.
The kids loved it because went to get ice cream each week and Chris and I loved it because it's wonderful to be at the temple, even if it's only on the temple grounds.
We actually called our weekly temple nights, "Temple Ground Teachings"
The kids got to wear they were asking when we would go again. They started looking forward to it.
It was a wonderful experience and I think we will need to repeat it periodically and we can build on our teachings as they understand more.

We had to do one lesson without Dad while he was in Virginia. We missed him but we did facetime him afterwards.
And lucky for us, Aunt Laura was visiting for our last lesson.
We loved these lessons!

We are so very grateful to have our temple so close. It's been a little over a year since it was dedicated and it's been an amazing year.

That's it for now. Life is wonderful. It's busy and crazy but great. We have so much to be grateful for and I feel blessed to have my people!
